These people are incompetent at best and straight up crooks at worst. They are running an insurance scam. I have no idea why Assurant Warranty sub-contracts with these people. Awful customer service, impossible to reach, don't arrive on time and they cancel appointments last minute even when approved by Assurant.

They are prone to mis-diagnosing a problem, and then insisting they are correct, robbing the customer of the ability to fix the main problem.

It's a never ending cycle of frustration. Even with definitive proof of an issue and approval from the Warranty holder (in this case Assurant) time and again they decide DAY of not to come out and fix the problem.

Like others have said if I could have given negative stars I would have. This company is who my home warranty claim was assigned to. They give five hour windows no early morning or late evenings first bad thing. So I have them come out on a Saturday. They send a nice technician who understood that my fridge condenser started making noises a week ago loud grinding and no longer could keep fridge or freezer cold. I lost everything inside of it. We plug my fridge in and after he let it ran without much change in temperature realized the condenser was running way too hot for only being plugged in for twenty minutes. Informed it would need to be replaced and the office would call on Monday to advise when they would have the part. I thought everything was fine until I did not hear from the office so I called, they immediately were trying to claim they were trying to get a hold of me which is a lie no missed calls or voice mails from them, then they begin to say they don't believe the technician they sent out and want to send a senior technician. I ask why you would send someone you don't believe out in the first place and that is the second week without a fridge and I can't afford to keep waiting for another technician and then for the part when the first technician diagnosed the problem. I called the home warranty company who tried contacting them and they wouldn't pick up their phone. Trying to get set up with a different repair company. If there is anything good to come out of this, hopefully they will no longer be a vendor for my home warranty company!!!

I wish I could give this company minus 5 stars!!! They are horrible. I have an extended warranty through Home Depot for our $3500 refrigerator. Due to a power surge we had to use it as our frige had a fried circuit board. My husband diagnosed the problem before we called for service and we supplied them with make/model numbers and asked them to tell the technician. 3 days later the "service" tech shows up in a Prius with no knowledge of any of this. 2 days later and they still don't have the part, which my husband has located and ordered because we cannot reach this company on the phone. We have called 5 times and after waiting up to 18 minutes, our calls are disconnected. On the one time I was able to get someone on the phone I was told it could take up to 10 days to find the part. Again, my husband found it in 1 day but we can't tell them because we get disconnected every time we try to call them. I will be contacting Home Depot to tell them how horrible this company is. Living without a refrigerator for 6 days and counting....

This place is terrible. Technician came out and diagnosed the problem with my fridge. Stated he would order the part and took my deductible. I was contacted later and was told they can't diagnose the problem so I need to get a second opinion. So now nothing is being done and they kept my deposit. NEVER use this place!!! Crooks.

I bought a dish washer from Lowe's. It was installed but it did not work. On the paperwork we were referred to Active Appliance for repair. My wife called the number-that's when the nightmare began. It was the worst possible customer service we've ever experienced. The women on the phones were rude and lied about contacting me on my cell. They were discourteous to my wife repeatedly and refused to listen to our problem. Fortunately, I contacted the Store Manager at Lowe's who very politely rectified our situation by ordering us a new dish washer and will swap out the other when delivered. I am writing the same information to Lowe's. Perhaps they will find another repair service. Active Appliance is a joke! Rating - NO Stars

Was assigned this company by KitchenAid for a brand new fridge that had arrived not working. They gave us a 5 hour window for when they would come out. The guy arrives and says KitchenAid should just give us a new fridge before even checking the fridge. Then he examines the fridge and says it's not the compressor. He puts the fridge back against the wall. So I ask what the problem actually is. He looks annoyed, slides the fridge back out and checks the back of it again. Says he doesn't know for sure but he will have to come out with another set of tools next week to try and figure it out. What kind of fridge repair place doesn't show up with the right tools?! I asked at that point when he will be coming back the following week (over 2 weeks in the middle of summer with no working fridge is NOT fun) and he says he doesn't know. This place is a joke. I’ve already complained to KitchenAid about them and they are sending a different company. Please check the other reviews on Yelp to get an idea of how truly terrible this business is and how bad they are for your appliances and patience.

Giving this company even a small part of a single star is too much. 3 times they have tried to scam us: refrigerator, microwave and, more recently, our washer/dryer conbo. From simple dishonesty to ineptness ranging on sheer incompetence they have been consistent and are no longer a part of our home warranty contract. Stay away from these people.

Overall I had a terrible experience with this company. First the good, when my dishwasher broke I set up a diagnosis appointment with these guys via Whirlpool. The diagnosis appointment was pleasant, the appointment window was short and the technician was prompt. Two days later the company contacted me with a repair estimate and this is when things got bizarre. The quote for the labor seemed high so I asked the saleswoman how the cost for labor was calculated, i.e., is it a flat rate, or per hour, or per procedure, etc. For whatever reason the saleswoman could not answer this simple question and her vague responses were surprisingly rude, condescending and insulting for someone that was trying to gain my business. The labor for 1 of 2 of my repairs was fully covered by Whirlpool, so I asked her how much the labor for the 2nd repair would be. Her response to this question was "we can't do half job." I am sure that was an answer to some question, it just wasn't an answer to mine. When I asked to speak to her supervisor, her response was, "I am the Supervisor." In other words the rude discourteous customer service that she was providing was the best this company had to offer. In this fragile post-recession economy I am surprised that a business with such poor customer service can survive. In fact, based on my personal experience I have a hard time believing that any of the reviews below are from actual customers. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy let alone my friends. I wish yellow pages didn't force me to give this company 1 star.

Another great experience with Active Appliance Repair. The same repairmen that were here to repair our washing machine four months ago returned, this time to repair a dishwasher. They were quick, efficient, right on the money, and skilled. Just like last tme.
