Back in the day this used to be a great store. Over the past few years it has gone downhill in a major way. It's sad, I don't want to shop at Walmart or Harp's, I do shop at this store but it's not a pleasant experience. The fresh stuff is like the employees: seems tired, worn out, lack of luster, no joy in life. This store needs a shot of Geritol.

Yeah, I love fresh "cooked" "Tuscan" bread from Arkansas. Seriously though, I give IGA 4 stars. It's no wholefoods or trader joe's, but for what this area has to offer (and for affordable pricing), IGA's a good family corner store. Sure beats shopping at the China, er um, walmart. For organic veggies, one can get royally ripped off at Ozarks Natural, or find the closest farmer's stand (I found one at the end of Gregg St. in Johnson that rocks). The Satruday farmers market at the square might be helpful if you're a doctor or lawyer, otherwise it's a good place to see other fayettevillians, and that's it.

We *love* Margin's IGA! Good selections, great prices, super-friendly people, and even staff to carry your groceries to your car for you! Hard to beat. We want to comment in particular on produce, which, frankly, hadn't been the best a couple of years ago. Store management, recognizing this, brought in a new experienced produce manager, who has really turned it around. We get wonderful bags of red baking potatoes we can't find anywhere else, lovely sweet onions, great veggies of all kinds, and a wide selection of fruit, including the ability to buy single apples, pears, oranges, etc. The produce manager is very customer-oriented and will even help customers hand-select individual items from the display to suit their particular needs (especially ripe, or not likely to ripen for a few more days, etc.). Bottom line: the joys of an old-fashioned grocery store with up-to-date products and prices. And don't miss the fresh-cooked Tuscan bread!!! It's truly a joy to shop here.
