Provided by YP.comI went to this guy because years ago he done an excellent job on my Mustang engine.
But this time around, i took him a hi performance chevy 350 and asked him to rebuild it for me. He said he wouldnt have much time to get to it right away. He suggested I just swap out with a long block he had that was already finished.
I agreed to the swap, paid nearly $1000 back then to get the chevy engine.
I got it installed and found out the bolt hole in the crank for the harmonic balancer was striped, and it had a broken valve spring.
He did give me a heli coil to repair the crank, but once he found out the engine was in a mazda B2000 he said he couldnt work on it because it was custom.
(a chevy 350 is the same rather its in a chevy truck or a mazda. He told me it wasnt a valve spring, that its prolly a bad lifter. He gave me a new set of lifters, i changed those and put a new cam in (cam was at my expense) the engine still missed and made this strange creaking noise that came from the valve cover.
I took it back to him, and he refused to work on it.
Once upon a time this guy was an honest man, but now.... well you make your own decision based on my story.
