Established in 1973, Alvarado Middle School serves more than 1,150 students in grades six through eight. The school offers a range of academic programs in mathematics, science, language arts and social studies. It also maintains a school site council that participates in various school welfare-related activities. Alvarado Middle School has received the California Distinguished School Award and is a member of the California League of Middle Schools. It is a National Blue Ribbon School.
