We were packing to leave the area after visiting with family and enjoying our grandson's birthday. My husband looked for a place to "grab" breakfast before our ride home. What a wonderful way to start out our 6 hr trip. We took a step into the 50's, a time both of us had only wished we could relive.

Our first encounter was the music of that Era, the decor and a perky little lady in an aqua and pink wattress outfit who made our whole experience unforgettable. Her name was Bridget "with one t" she reminded us. The mother of the owner of this "joint" she explained in heavy Bostonian accent.

The sign out front said " the Best Eggs Benedict anywhere" so it caught my attention. Not an eggeration! Bridget suggested if we liked pastrami, "you didn't even need teeth to chew it". Not a lie! I had the Irish eggs Benedict and hubby went with Bridget's suggestion of the Pastrami Benedict. Saying it was delicious doesn't do it justice. Everything on the plate was perfectly done. Nothing more than the other. The homefries were the best I have ever had. Perfect - not over cooked - not under cooked. The hollandaise sauce light and delicate, eggs perfectly prepared. Of course the coffee cup remained full the whole time.

Go with a good appetite! The helpings are plentiful. The menu had many wonderful choices making me wish I were a local who could frequent the diner.

If you are in the area and want a treat, don't pass up the experience. It's the whole package!!!! Thank you Bridget and everyone at Dream Diner for making these 1st timers feel special.
