Im not sure what else people are looking for in a TX inspection...



To me, the way he runs his business is perfect.



Ive lived in Tyler for 3 years. Ive had all of my family's 4 vehicles inspected there EVERY time it comes up. He's my first choice.



Bring your documents and cash -- and you'll be out before you know it. If you fail -- he'll be curt and will recommend a mechanic if you ask -- but hurry and get your car out of the way because the next guy is waiting to get his inspection done.

He is an ;!;hole no bedside manor what so ever but the job will get done so if you just want the work done or inspection with no talking go here

This guy is a real •••hole.While he was inspecting my truck several customers came in and seemed to irritate him he slamed the hood on my new truck very hard,total lack of respect for his customers go somewhere else.surprised he didn't break anything

I have lived in Tyler 14 years and have had my inspections done at Rusty's every year. I appreciate his 'down to business' attitude. While his answer's are short and to the point (which can be offputting) I know that I can trust what he says. Unless something unforeseen happens I will continue to use Rusty's for inspsections AND repairs.

I saw previous reviews which commented on customer service etc. I like Rusty's because you're in and out, see what you get and get what you see. I don't need fluff for car inspections. I need to get the job done, and that's what Rusty's does. Owner has a perfect right to have rules such as no checks or credit cards. I return every year and never have had a problem. And I'm a Starbucks fluff kind of girl. Great quick inspection, country music on small waiting room and the only thing fluffy is the kitty cat!

Absolutely horrible... one star is too generous, but you can't post zero or negative stars on the review. I have been several times over the years and have come to realize the experience is always the same. If it is so distasteful offputting and loathe for him to do vehicle inspections, why is his business CALLED 10 minute Inspections? Unprofessional and no customer service skills whatsoever. The place is a dump, parking lot is a wreck and the guy is totally rude. Rusty's is an embarassment to Tyler and East Texas.

I lugged my newborn baby and 2 year old up to the desk and read the sign saying they will not take debit or credit cards for an inspection. I did not realize this when I drove up, otherwise I would not have gone in because I did not have any cash. I waited patiently for my turn and simply asked if they would make an exception. I was met with a curt "no." I understand that they probably make no money on these inspections if people pay with a credit/debit card, but I was hoping they would take pity and make an exception for a young mother with 2 very little children. They should put something on their road sign about not taking debit/credit cards so as to save people like me time getting 2 young children out of their car seats and then right back in again only to have to go elsewhere to get the inspection because they will lose a few cents in credit card fees. I will never go there again and will discourage others as well. My advice is to go to Jimmy Browns on 155s. They always have excellent customer service and are quick (about 10 mins) as well.

Ths place is the trashiest place in Tyler. I went for an inspection and asked if I could write a check since he doesn't accept credit cards. Rusty mumbled something about local address of local band and I told him I didn't have a local address but my bank is on Broadway. He began yelling at me about how that wouldn't work! I said that I would have to go somewhere else and asked for my insurance card back. He threw the card at me and started yelling about how I needed to leave immediately. I sarcastically said "Well somebody isn't very friendly" and walked out the door. As I was walking to my car, Rusty continued to yell and began cursing. Even though going to an ATM and getting cash then going back to Rusty's would have been much quicker, I drove across town and waited at a Kwik Lube for an hour just because I refused to gift Rusty my business. I have never been so disappointed in my life.

Failed inspection and was rude said something was wrong that was not. BEWARE. Car passed at different station.
