I am a frequent client but my favorite friend and nail tech was booked. The nail tech taking care of me on 3-14-15 was surly and rough. She could not get the gel to harden and blamed me for it, telling me I was "holding my fingers the wrong way." She had to remove it and start over and was very rough in filing the tops of my nails with a very rough emory board. She hit my cuticles over and over. The final outcome looked like cadaver nails but after sitting there for 2 hours I didnt care. My only regret is that I tipped her. (WHAT was I thinking?) I called when I got home though and scheduledan appointment for 3-16-15 with my friend. When I arrived she was only about 1/4th of the way through a pedi with another client. The owner, (Lee) wrapped my nails in foil with cotton and soaked them with acetone, which burned all of the cuts and splits spots that Kim, on the 14th had opened up with her rough filing. I told Lee that it was hurting and she replied, "no it's not." Well, yes it was. She left me with the nails wrapped up and buringing for 40 minutes while the pedicure was being done. When my friend was finished with the pedi, she told Lee that the client now wanted her to do a mani. What happened to appointments? Evidently Nails by Lee knows how to take an appointment, just not how to keep an appointment. I finally took the foil off, my nail beds burned and stung, told Lee I felt that all of the repeated chemicals form 3 gel manicures and removals in 2 days and all of the filing on top Well, she is the expert on how my nails were feeling and how they looked. :-( I asked to be reimbursed for the gel manicure and left. My nails look terrible, like cadaver nails. It looks as if they are damaged and the gel polish is still clininging to the nail beds in spots. If I ever return to NBL, it will never be with a nail tech other than my friend. Right now, it is doubtful. Also, they recently raised their prices exponetially and started using the service "menu" system so many of the less classy ubiquitous nail salons use on every corner. The care and time that they put into their services was the one reason I kept returning. Now, the once standard pedi services are classified as the most pricey, and the price jumoed from 32 to 45. It looks like the Lees are getting greedy.

Don't go!!!

This place is horrible!! My polish never dried and they could have cared less!!! I removed the polish the next day and discovered that my nails were filed so offset that I have had to cut several below my finger, I now have to wait on one to grow out just to be able to cut it where it fractured!!! DON'T GO to this place!!! I will be spreading the word!!!

I love this place!

I love this place! I have gone there for every special occasion in the past few years. The customer service is great, and the quality of the work outshines any of the other salons that i have been to in this town. I read a review that was complaining about the fact that the employees talk to each other in their native language; NEWSFLASH: most nail salons do that. And that review also mentioned perifin wax being used multiple times. It is HOT wax, not warm or cold. Because of the way that they use the hot wax, they have to melt the wax again, during which the germs and stuff from the previous use will be destroyed. I'm not saying that they are a perfect salon, but at least they attempt to make the customer's stay as comfortable as possible unlike other nail places that look down their noses and act like they are doing you a favor by servicing you. Im not trying to push my opinion by any means, but all of the other reviews that i read were unfair and close minded, and they deserve a review with ALL of the facts instead of partial facts that are misleading.

overpriced!

I will give 2 stars only because the job was fair. For a manicure and pedicure the job was satisfactory. But the prices were outrageous. Why are their pedicures twice as much as any other salon? Also, i read a review that they re_use parrafin wax. That is disgusting, and i wont be returning.

This place is HORRIBLE. Here are some info I believe you reviewr love to know.

They re-use the paraffin hot wax. Isn't that gross or what? very unsanitize to use it over and over on different ppl. But If u think that's normal then I have no comment.

Unprofessional = talking to each other across the room in their own language while working on a customer's. Isn't that rude or what? If you can't speak english can't really keep up a conversation with client then keep your mouth shut until you're done.

If you accidently break a bottle of polish you'll be charge $20 with or without service. when it only cost $8 in store.

Some of their tech don't even have license for WAXING. if she/he is a manicurist you can only do nails.

If you guys see this review and think I'm lying then when you go there for pedi w/hot wax ask them how come they don't trash it in front of customer. Break a bottle of polish and you'll see. If you get Waxing service ask the tech to show you her license. if it show manicurist then you better ask for someone else with Facialist or Operator on the license.

By the way, if they tell you that OPI GEL will not damage your nail like acrylic and solar then that mean they're lying to you. OPI GEL will cause damage to your nail too. Just so you know.

These useful source are from one of their former employee!!

I believe something you guys should know about.

I have been here several times...

I have been here several times and each time I visit, yes they fit me in, but they are rude. I think the mani's & pedi's they do are done ok, I just do not believe in going back to a place that has poor customer service. If it happened once, I would think they are having a bad day, but this has happened numerous times. I will not be back.
