Uniform Division South West is a part of the Tulsa Police Department, which was founded in 1928. The department provides law enforcement and crime prevention services. It operates patrol, investigative and administrative divisions. It intervenes in cases of theft, robbery, serious assault, sex crime, child abuse, narcotics trafficking and domestic violence. The Tulsa Police Department has a special operations division that operates K-9, bomb squad, fleet management, air support and disaster response units. The department s records division processes and manages criminal records, statistical reports, clearance letters, and arrest and search warrants. It conducts investigations, gathers evidence, and interviews suspects, victims and witnesses. In addition, it organizes several safety-related programs for the general public.
