Founded in 1981, the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is a private, nonprofit nonprofit charity that distributes food and and grocery items to more than 400 partner programs in over 20 counties of eastern Oklahoma. It provides products to food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, after-school programs and senior citizen centers. The organization also helps to raise public awareness about hunger and the role of food banking in alleviating hunger. The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma works to eliminate works to inform through education through education, advocacy and the distribution of food. It has an approximately 70,000-square-foot warehouse facility that distributes nearly 15 million pounds food annually. The organization offers Food 4 Kids Backpack, Value-Added Processing and produce programs. It receives donations through through local and national food manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, growers, restaurants and caterers. The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is located in Tulsa, Okla.
