We hired Sharmin Pool-Bak to remodel our master bathroom. She said the project would take 4 weeks to complete. After the original bathroom was demolished, days and weeks went by with no workers at our house and the project still was not finished by the 20th week. Her construction design was faulty and created problems she either did not know how to correct or was unwilling to correct in a satisfactory manner. She installed a bay window with three widows that did not match in it. Tile work was evaluated by two other professionals in the industry as "substandard, amateurish and unacceptable." She continuously accepted poor quality work from her subcontractors and attempted to correct only the things we complained about. Even when the solution to a problem was obvious (purchasing matching windows at our expense or floating a backsplash out from a wall) she still would not do it. Instead, she offered to “disguise” mistakes, or whatever solutions would require the least effort from her subcontractors. Her attempts at rectifying problems were substandard and unacceptable. We had to hire an attorney to sever our relationship with Ms. Pool-Bak. Her work was so poor we had to have virtually everything she did in our unfinished bathroom removed. We also had to have her electrical wiring redone, install a lentil over window she put in a weight-bearing wall, and correct the instillation of anther widow in the room. Other problems will remain because we cannot afford to correct them. We lost the $12,000 we paid her, $3,000 in attorney fees, and are now paying to have the entire bathroom redone correctly.
