I have gone several times to the downtown location, and each time I found the staff extremely unhelpful, the quality of instruments poor, and the prices way too high. I finally went to the East side location and was extremely impressed with the atmosphere. The lady working the counter was very knowledgeable and helpful, even though she had been at work all day and into the night (they were doing an evening event). The manager was also very friendly. We brought in a guitar we purchased from the downtown shop for restringing, and as soon as they learned the guitar NEVER stayed in tune, they did everything in their power to find a record of our purchase from the other location (we no longer had our receipt), but they also replaced the guitar for a much better new one. We didn't even realize we had a warranty on the guitar and they replaced it even though we were just a month out of the warranty period! I will be more than happy to bring all my future purchases to the East location!

This store is great. I guess you will find all walks of life here, because they have been here for 90 years! They had some renovations recently and it looks great! If you haven't been to the East side location, you should check it out. Totally different from the Downtown store. The two managers there are great and very helpful. The East store also offered me two free private lessons and they re-strung my guitar for free! I love it!!

I was recently in the downtown store and liked the new look. Some new faces but was helped by both Bill and Moses which I think have been there a long time. These guys know what they're talking about and will give you the best service along with matching internet prices. Thanks for the great customer service! See you next time!

Pretty lame that a retail business is closed all weekend. They lost a sale today.

First 2 reviewers must have an axe to grind. When is the last time they checked out the Chicago Music Store. The selection is great, not a lot of the most expensive lines, but a few old treasures and lots of mid range selection. Current staff is knowledgeable and helpful. There is a reason they keep getting voted "Best Music Store" in Tucson. Check it out yourselves!

This store has been in Tucson since the beginning. The old guys that used to run it weren't very good and the new generation is worse. Very high prices and honestly, much of the gear is cheap lower end or no-name stuff now. There was a time they at least had good stuff, now they just suck. Located in downtown Tucson, and very historical in nature, but stuck there. Good luck if you decide to purchase or deal with these folks now.

THESE PEOPLE SUCK! The place is a mess, the staff is rude and argumentative, and the prices are unreal. Baught a guitar from them a month ago, which immediately broke. I brought it back under warranty and they told me they werent going to honor the warranty! I had to get the state involved to get my money back. UNREAL!
