Seems very competent and knowledgeable. Now if she would spend more than 4 minutes with a patient,explain what shes doing and why instead of rushing to see how many patients ($$$) she can get through in a day. Id give her 5 stars. ( it is a , "get in line, take a number, next please, now move along atmosphere:), I give her 5 stars for competence. But her attitude gets her a 1.

Excellent Doctors and Nursing Staff but....??

I have been to see the Eye Dr. at this office for about 3 years now and truly love the way the medical staff treats you and handles you....BUT.....when I went to see them this last time and went to check out; I was informed that in order to have my new prescription for eye glasses I would have to pay $30 for it! I told them that my insurance always covers that as I do not even have a co-pay! I requested for just the numbers for my eyes for the new prescription and was informed that it was "confidential" and I could only have it if I paid for it! I suffer from a degenerative bone disease and have high levels of pressure in both eyes/ borderline glaucoma...I asked if the eyeglass store would be able to call them for it and was told "NO!!" Well...how did this appt. benefit me any then?? I am going to another appt. there next week and I hope that this is resolved as I have no possible way to pay for my eye care!!

I was referred over to Dr. Lane for my cataract surgery by my medical doctor and I couldn't be more happy - everything has been great!!

Great office, caring staff

Dr. McCafferty and staff have taken great care of me over the years. I've had two cataract surgeries and my wife was treated with compassion when she was very ill. I have been very happy with the care and service. I have never had any issues like the other reviewer, who sounds like he didn't understand his own insurance plan. These are eye surgeons, not contact lens dispensers.

Overcharged and Treated Poorly

I went to this doctor's office for a regular eye exam and contact fitting because they said they accepted my insurance. When I arrived the day of my appointment, they told me, they were no longer sure if they accepted it. No longer sure? I specifically called ahead of time to confirm it prior! Anyway, I asked how much the appointment would be without insurance and they refused to tell me. They said they could not tell me because it "depends." They made me sign a paper with possible charges I might be responsible for if my issuance didn't cover it. They totaled $175. Long story short, I kept the appointment and was sent a bill for $295! They reduced it down to $244, but not down to the $175 I should have owed. When I told them I shouldn't have to pay $69 nothing, they threatened to turn me into collection!Don't do business with these greedy thieves! Btw, once you pass their first waiting room, a long series of nurses will move you around the back like you're on a conveyer belt. They try to find ways to milk money out of you and your insurance at every turn. Eye drops here, this test there. Even try to say no and they're make you feel like you're going to catch glaucoma the minute you walk out of the office without their tests! Sure, they smile a lot, but that's because they're preparing to rob you blind! Don't even consider this place if you have an HSA, or less than 100% vision coverage from your work.
