If I could give zero stars I would. Corporate, in store, anything, this company is atrocious and has no proper understanding of customer service or hospitality. They're liars, and schemers, and I mean how else would you make money having such a horrible business? But please, please, please look into the rest of the reviews and this company's history and take your money somewhere else before they take all of it.

Run! Run NOW! Buyer beware, this place is a huge scam! Their contract is full of hidden fees and their staff will purposefully mislead you on the "perks" of opening an account there. I got snared by a groupon. Now I'm stuck for a year! Their management is rude and extrmely unhelpful once they realize you want to leave as well. They definitely have quite the racket going and hopefully this review saves someone from my fate.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! THIS BUSINESS IS INCREDIBLY HORRIBLE!!!!



On December 3rd I faxed Jon, owner of Island Tanning Tualatin, that I would like to cancel my contract with Island Tanning due to my disatisfaction of their services and business. I recieved no phone call, email or fax back from Island Tanning regarding cancellation fees or a response to my fax. On the 31st of December, to my frusteration, I was charged for my account $96. I called Island Tanning Tualatin and was given the same information, to fax the owner, and resent my fax to Jon Guyette in January. Again, no response, no phone call, no email for the month of January, again, charged $96 on the 30th of January. February, I faxed again to demand explanation of the charges and for Jon to call me. I demanded in my fax that he called me, and in Feb was the first time I was able to speak to Jon. I told him how frusterated I was that it had taken this amount of time to get a hold of him, while I disappointed to hear of my cancellation fee NOW of $199 3 months later from when I pursued him. To put the "cherry" on top of this situation, after I paid the cancellation fee of $199. I was charged AGAIN $96 on the 4th of March, which was never my payment date on the contract, and I did not authorize this. I texted Jon about this and he said that he had handled it, but after 7 business days without a refund of $96 I pursued Jon about this AGAIN and he said that he did not run any payment since the cancellation fee. After being so frusterated, tired and exhausted by Jon and his inexcusable business practice of; 1. ZERO follow up with his customers, 2. Charging me three months PASSED when he was pursued and then 3. CHARGING ME again prior to my cancellation fee and on the WRONG date with out my autorization, I demand that the public or someone know about how poor of a business Jon Guyette is running. At this point it is nothing but NEGLIGENCE on Jon's part, I was understanding to him at month one. But at month 4 of dealing with this,I am demanding refunding of my time and efforts and have reported a claim to the BBB.

Terrible buisness!! THEIF'S

I had been an islands tanning customer since 2008. And although I was dumb enough to stay a client all these years i have had nothing but multipule problems wuth them. I'm here to warn anyone considering seeking services from islands. I have had to close my bank accounts and open new accounts just so that they could not continuously steal money from me. I have closed and re-opened my accounts 5 times now. I started paying my monthly payment in cash to avoid this who situation. That didn't stop them, I bought a lotion with my new debit card and then just a few days later islands took multipule payments out of my new account, completely unauthorized. In one month islands would take multipule payments out of my bank account, I would go into the store to get my money back and they would just argue with me and could never really give me an explanation. In order to even contact corp office you have to write a letter and fax it... Probably because John G runs such a shady company that he gets multipule complaint calls. this places sucks big time and I'm honestly kind of surprised that it's still a legit buisness.

Great beds, Great service

This place is awsome! I love it that they only have really good 7minute beds. They also high preassure tanning, its my favorite bed ever 12 min is the longest that you can go in it. I am very pickey on places I tan at but this place is very clean and they have good service. Just buy what you can afford and you ll be just great!

They stole money from my account

The tanning beds are awesome and give me a great tan, some of the best I have used but the tanning packages and products are outrageously priced! I signed up for auto pay and they took $300 out of my account without my permission and tried to blame it on me...it took months to get it fixed and they did not give me free tanning or anything after realizing it was their fault and one of their employees had stolen the money from my account. I enjoy the beds but the cost and stupid employees make in very unenjoyable to visit very often. Would not recommend...and especially DO NOT buy tanning lotions from there. You can find the exact same ones for about 80% cheaper on ebay or in other salons, even though they tell you that you're getting a good deal! They are very good scam artists there.
