I make it a habit of stopping by Thai Samurai at least once every week. I admit I mainly just go for the sushi because they have a wide variety and everything is always great, especially for the price. I usually go for lunch and you either get soup or a salad with whatever you purchase and I love the carrot/ginger type of dressing they use. I usually don't get anything besides sushi and the coconut chicken soup, but my friend always gets something with rice and chicken or beef, and has never complained that it is too sweet. I was expecting a little more heat when I ordered the chicken soup but overall it was great. I love the atmosphere and the girls are great there. I also recommend the specialty ice cream, it's wonderful :)

My boyfriend come here at least once a week to indulge in a "boat" of sushi. It comes with four rolls and it fills us both perfectly. Their sushi is better than anywhere I've tried. AMAZING. I will admit their thai food was a little sweet for my taste, but their sushi, my goodness. :)

Thai Samurai has a lot of basics going for it, good atmosphere, nice plating, and quality ingredients. However, there was a main theme throughout all the dishes I had, too much sweetness, not enough salt. This lead to the most of the meal tasting far too candy-like for me and the lack of salt was rather bland. I also wasn't very fond of the peanut sauce either as it had the same issue, and resembled very creamy peanut butter, when I was expecting it would be a thicker sauce made from ground peanuts. The only peanuts I found in it seemed to be whole pieces, as if they were placed in afterward for decoration. Other than that, the hottest spice level I ordered was much milder than what I'm used to, so I asked for a spice tray to fix that, and even the Sriracha sauce was heavily modified to be excessively sweet too. Although, they were nice enough to bring me a plain bowl of sauce when I mentioned it. Overall, everything was just way too sweet and I didn't enjoy the meal as a result.

I was excited to discover we had a new sushi restaurant opening up. I kept putting off gonig in and one night ordered sushi take-out as well as the Ginger Chicken. The young woman who took my order over the phone was incredibly sweet and professional and asked how spicy I wanted the chicken, which I found to be a nice touch. When I went in to pick it up the staff was very friendly and helpful and warmly greeted myself as well as my son. And the food was delicious! Sushi had just the right amount of spice as did the chicken Generous portions and great prices.

I figured to write a review after I saw the size of shrimp that came with my meal. Jumbo!! First that I've ever seen at a restaurant. I mean I eat a lot of seafood around the Tarpon Springs/New Port Richey area and this by far is the best restaurant to truly experience a unique twist in Thai/Japanese cuisine. Just for future customers, I had the red panang with shrimp and my wife had the Pad-Thai combo with chicken and shrimp.
