GREAT SELECTION, BUT.......

When they price items, they use permanent markers and write on bisque porcelain - wood - the back of paintings etc. I have picked up all kinds of things and put them right back down because I don't want to have thrift store prices on the things in my home. The stuff is so cheap, why bother - they are so worried about tag switching that they ruin many beautiful items with the markers. Many things are destroyed this way, not to mention the heavy duty tape they use to tape the top of an item to the bottom so there is less breakage. That's a smart idea, but when something has been hand painted and the tape comes off, so does the paint.

However, if you're looking for clothes, they have aisles and aisles of things to choose from and you can find some really nice things. I go there at least three times a week and always find something to take home. I love the store - the have a really great selection.....umbrella's, sun glasses, shoes, books, video's, dvd's (but they write on the case too) - games, toys, handbags (a little pricey), bric a brac, lamps, appliances, dishes, cups (but they tape 4 together so you have to buy all 4 and they don't always match), audio books, furniture, greeting cards, kitchen items, vases, hats, scarfs, pillows, linens........and if you speak Spanish, that's a plus because nobody works there that was born in the USA. It can be a little hard communicating with them....but unless there is a problem, you really don't have to say much.

Highly recommended. Be sure to check the scrolling sign above the sales registers to see what the daily specials are (i.e. 50% off for seniors, 50% off clothes and toys etc.) Pricing seems to be somewhat arbitrary: you can find a pair of jeans for $3 then another pair almost identical for $9. Selection is large and changes quickly. They have shoes, housewares, clothes, toys, electronics, kitchen appliances, curtains, books, cd's/tapes, jewelry and more. Some appliances, electronics and bikes are very overpriced for a thrift store (dryers for $200, old bikes for $60+) but most items, especially clothing are reasonably priced for a thrift store. They close at 6 and are not open on Sundays.
