I would NOT recommend Vern's in Torrance because they refuse to be flexible on their already over-priced camper shells. From the other reviews I've read, I thought that I would get good service and pricing but NOOO. They never bothered to explain what types of specials and promos manufactures were offering and they were charging me $1600 on their "Vern's" branded standard truck camper shell for my 2010 Toyota Tacoma Long Bed which came out to $1800 after tax, installation and carpet. That price was RIDICULOUS for a self-branded product and they refused to give me a deal on it. So I asked them ,"Can't you be flexible since you're factory direct and never undersold? It even says so on your big sign outside and your website." --the salesman responds, "I'm actually separate from the factory and independent" --WHAT THE HELL???? That is flat out lying, false-advertising and stupid. I realize that times are though but don't flat out lie and rip off your customers. To make things worse, they were charging $500 for a pair of nerf bars that I can easily get for $250 online or other competitors. They wouldn't even even give a package deal if I wanted to buy a camper shell and the nerf bars together. I called about 10 other dealers that were friendlier and more flexible with the pricing. To show you how ridiculously over-priced Vern's is, let me tell you that the average price I got for a SnugTop Cab-Hi camper shell with carpeting and interior light was $1200. That's $1200 for one of the top names in camper shells!!! Hmmm...let's see, $1600 for a Vern's shell or $1200 for a better quality brand name? --you decide. So my advice and warning to potential customers, STAY AWAY FROM VERN'S --THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF.
