I donate and buy all the time from the D.I. however this experience was so bad I may never shop or donate again because of one person named "kevin". I asked the cashier who was so sweet and kind who to talk to about Doing some service hours and also volunteering to work at this location. She said yes to talk to Kevin who I asked if I could do my hours there, he asked why I needed to do service hours and I openly told him i got in some trouble 5 years back for a crime i did not commit. Kevin then tells me that "we" don't allow people like me to work or volunteer there do to my history and that I should look elsewhere to do my hours. I was speechless and in disbelief that he said that to me, expressing all I want to do is help. he would not hear it and shut me down. He then states that I probably shouldn't be going around telling people about my charge, this really gave me a warm Tooele welcome. I then asked him if this is the way the people of the church would shun down on me since we are church goers and devote our lives to God, his reply was "I hope not". Wanting to go back and give him some knowledge about judgment and the teachings of God I did not go back knowing it would not do any good. All I have to say is that it's people like Kevin that give the church a bad name and the teachings the Mormon churches perform. He didnt even allow me a second chance or first chance for this matter. All I'm looking to do is help and help people the way many have helped me. I hope Kevin can live with himself after completely judging someone and being down right discrimitive of someone who just wants to help. I know there are great people in the church and the community but sad to say Kevin at the Tooele d.i. is far from great. He should be ashamed of himself and I hope you feel the same way to whom it may concern, I will continue to spread this story and take it as far as I can until I'm heard or I'm able to help. This will not be the last time you hear from me.
