BAD DR! Dr. Benedict placed a crown and never offered me an opportunity to see his work before leaving. Once in my car I looked at my porcelain crown and saw two spots were filled down to the metal. Leaving what looks like two spots of black decay. Immediately I called and expressed my dissatisfaction. When back in Dr's chair he was very dismissive of my concern. His demeanor toward me mad me feel intimidated and uneasy. However, at that time he did agree to fix it. After that visit I had horrible anxiety about going back, I kept pushing it off. When getting my teeth cleaned (by a different dentist) the crown was brought to my attention. After having xrays done it was confirmed that the crown would have to be fixed. I contacted Dr. Benedict, he refused to redo the crown only to refund my out of pocket cost ($500)..but i lost my insurance (which paid him as well)..Crowns cost $1000.I'll be out another $500 because I no longer have insurance to cover the rest. I trusted the wrong doc

I cracked my tooth and learned I needed a root canal. However, Mark G. Benedict did not inform me of the cost or what the operation of a root canal would contain.



I had my root canal done at another location, and before even performing the root canal, they made sure I understood the terms of what a root canal is.



A root canal is a $1400 operation. Mark Benedict was going to perform the operation, THEN tell me how much it was. This is extremely unethical, scummy, but yet a great representation of how this place operates. In addition, I was given a somewhat hard time when I said I wasn't sure that I wanted to perform the operation right then and there. Mark G. Benedict also circumvented many questions I had about the operation. I was never told or informed how much my insurance would cover. Again, Mark G. Benedict wanted to perform the operation first, and then force me to pay however much he wanted to later.



I also heard Mark G. Benedict discussing his price with another customer. "These fillings should cost $3000; you're getting them for $500." I'm glad Mark G Benedict is so professional that he openly discusses cost with his customers, and within the range of other patients.



Do not go to Mark G. Benedict. You will be given the run-around and wrung out for your money. Go to another dentist instead; one who is not out to attempt to perform highway robbery.

I am replying to the 1st comment. I too had an unenjoyable experience with one of his dental assistants. Unfortunately the way his office is laid out there isnt very much privacy because the operatories are open. I managed an dental office for years and this is definitely a violation of the HIPPA law amongst just plain out ethics. I am just curious if you and I had the issues with the same assistant... I myself just started in his office in June, had a tooth pulled, which definitely needed it but I had to go back 2 days later because my jaw was swelling with infection, which the dentist immediately said and saw once he came in but beforehand I had a loud mouth assistant yell and tell him I just had a dry socket, which is the furthest thing from what was going on with me as he told her himself. He did tell her at that point she needed to have more discrestion in discussing patiensts care. Im sorry you had such a bad experience. But if you would like to find a dentist you like better, check with your insurance company to osee who is in network for you... My first visit with the DR himself, I thought he was gentle and kind. Im sorry you had such a poor experience. Please dont let this experience keep you from seeking help having your teeth taken care of.... Our teeth are alot more important to our health than most may realize, if it gets serious it can honestly cause you heart problems-even a heart attack, depending on each individuals situation.... PLEASE dont let this unethical assistant stop you from finding the care you need for your teeth... SORRY to hear about this... I just wish I knew if it was the same one I had issues with.

I would definately not reccomend this office to anyone. Upon my first visit, the dental assistant was really rude, she took my paper work from me before I had finished filling it out, then asked me why I skipped some information in a very unpleasant manner., She then escorted me to the Xray room , however she spoke rediculously loud about the number of cavities I had so much so that the entire office could hear her, I was extremely embarrassed, there was no confidentiality. And before the dentist even entered the room to meet me for the first time she exclaimed to him "you don't even have to come in here! she has so many cavities!" This is not what I expected for a first vist. I at least wanted an introduction to my new dentist. I appologized for the number of cavities out of embarrasment, and that's when the dental assistant said "ha don't be sorry,your going to make us a lot of money!" I was shocked at the unprofessionalism of the staff, she set me up for 3 different appointments right there on the spot. I don't think they had my best interest, they simply wanted to make some money, needless to say I never returned for any of the appointments, and never will, I'm currently looking for a good dentist!
