In the spring of 2016 I contracted Lowes to make improvements to my home. The job was close to $12,000. The Sub Contractor arrived with a crew of mostly untrained workers who did a sloppy job, this was confirmed by the store staff. Simply put, I arrived expecting a finished job and found a refrigerator in my dinning room with scratches on my hardwood flooring, dents in the appliance. They tore out a built in custom cabinet to get the counter top installed and tried to cover the gap left with Styrofoam molding that was covered with contact paper, calking was all over the countertop and backsplash, the backsplash was being held on the wall with muddy cinderblocks found in my yard.. The bar sink was sitting in a hole too big for the sink, there was no water and when I turned on the water valve, water was leaking. trim that was originally in the kitchen was replaced with cheep unfinished pine (told to stain it myself). There was a buckle in the floating floor which I was told was normal. Again these workers had never installed a floor like this but the supervisor said it was OJT for them. There is more but lets go on. Waiting for this "crew" to return to fix things was a constant n/c, n/s, now I would sit in this empty house for days, sometimes weeks for them to show and NOTHING, calls to Lowes were not returned, then they would guarantee me the "crew" would be here the next day and nope they had another job! They left me with split, chipped, cracked, cheep trim that you trip on and tell me to sign their job off and take $500 to repair it myself. Yep, "you have no other options, everything is off the table". Those things being, someone was coming from Lowes to see the sloppy work but now they are not coming! Oh and last of all, I get a contractor to look at fixing and replacing the cheep thresholds and trim and he finds out there are no margins around the floating floor/nailed down! Eventually it will buckle. Paid in advance!
