This is in my top 5 for the best beer bars in the Bay Area. They have rare beers and free events and music almost weekly, and a decent sized outdoor seating area, but it can be really packed on nights and weekends. Parking has been a little tricky the last couple times I've gone and I've had to walk a little bit down a block, but no big deal.
Crowd is mixed, between a lot of old locals and neighborhood people and beer nerds and visitors and some art crowd and even punk rockers, but it somehow seems low key and there's not much of anything besides a friendly vibe here, unless you try and order Budweiser or something... trust me they don't have it and teased one of my work buddies over it, but suggested a good light beer instead.
Food is good pub fare, it's sort of european. Coffee I haven't tried but the Cafe had a large drink selection etc.
