A AAmerican Shipping Containers, sold us a storage container knowing that in Hillsborough county, Florida it is a code violation & not allowed on any residential property. Before we bought the container, we asked them (at their office) if there was a zoning issue. They took 20 minutes to "check our zoning". The sales lady stated that as long as we don't live in a deed restricted neighborhood, the shipping container was not a code violation. The container was delivered by AAmerican, & set up by A AAmerican on our property. Code Enforcement gave us a citation. We called AAmerican, and asked why this happened? The lady who owns the business said that the lady that sold the unit to us was no longer there. They offered to buy the container back for $1,000. We paid $1,970 for the unit 3 months ago! DON"T buy from A Aamerican Container, until you check with your local zoning office. We wonder how many times has our unit been sold & bought back?
