Tamaqua Area School District is a comprehensive learning facility serving the educational needs of more than 2,200 students in grades kindergarten through 12. The district has various departments, such as accounts payable, attendance, business office, human resources, maintenance and operations, payroll, student transportation, tax administration, technology and training. Its special education programs include a full continuum of services to students in both district-operated classes, as well as classes provided by the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit. Adaptations, accommodations and supplemental aid and services are provided to the student to ensure success in the general education classroom. Tamaqua Area School District offers various programs to provide meaningful special education services and instructional activities for students with disabilities to help them prepare to be contributing members of the community. The school district is located in Tamaqua, Pa.
