Established in 1972, Gretchen Everhart School provides alternative education to students with moderate, severe and profound exceptionalities. It has an enrollment of 225 students and provides enrichment and educational services to students in prekindergarten to grade 12. It provides various programs, such as primary, elementary, middle and high school education, after-school program, art, community-based instruction, vocational training, mobility opportunities via education, music, and occupational and on-the-job training. Additionally, it provides physical education, skill development programs on personal and home living, sensory processing educational classes, speech and language development and hearing programs. The other services offered by the school include assistive technology, behavioral, medical, psychological, social work, technology, and occupational and physical therapies. The school additionally offers opportunities to participate in various athletic programs and a wide range of extracurricular activities. The school is located in Tallahassee, Fla.
