Poor service - Rip off company

If I could take away stars to make this a negative rating I WOULD rate them negative five (-5)! This company is poor in EVERYTHING they do - the quality of service, response time, getting accurate information, over billing, returning calls, ordering parts, and even asking the customer to clean up after their mess! What they are good at is holding the customer at bay and making up excuses. Here's a recap of my awful experience with Vincent's.

Our 2 yr old Maytag sideXside fridge was not staying cold. We called Maytag for 'authorized repairs', we got referred to Vincent's. Vincent's came to diagnose, pulled & tugged and almost broke the casing holding the part that was malfunctioning. The repair man borrowed my husband's MayTag manual saying he needed it get the part. He then informed my husband that he was in a hurry and would it be OK if my husband cleaned up and reassemble what he took apart. My husband being a nice guy agreed. This was in January 2007 - in April 2007 I was still running a partially operating fridge. I had called numerous times and was told the part was on back order in the south warehouse due to Hurrican Katrina. You can only blame the weather for so long! We took matters in our own hands late Apr. My husband researched the internet, identified the part we needed (Vincent never told us what part was needed) at Maytag Parts & Distribution store and within 10 minutes, we had the part. Husband installed it in 15 minutes and we had an operating fridge. The Maytag parts store said Vincent's could have come in ANY time to get the part. I was so disgusted and to add insult to injury, they billed us for over $108! ...it took me 3 months to get my repair manual back from them (and this was after many nagging phone calls to get them to return it).



I wrote a letter to the owner of my complaint, followed up by numerous phone calls only to be given excuse after excuse of not being avialable to take my call. I gave Vincent's ample opportunity to correct their poor service - even threatened to report them to the BBB. The owner never responded to my letter or weekly calls. I feel compelled to report their negative performance anywhere I can to help some other customer avoid a costly experience for poor service.



So if any of you who are even thinking of using Vincent's, please reconsider! Call my husband, he'd do a better and faster job! Better yet, call a chimp, an ape would do a better job than VIncent's. There's a reason for the Maytag man being the loneliest man in the repair market - they can't perform.
