scheduled an appointment for a blowout, once i arrived and the stylist washed my hair she began to pitch a conditioner for more money…I declined, as we proceeded back to the chair, she informed me her flat iron was not working (this perplexed me since we were in a salon academy, I imagine being able to acquire another flat iron quite easily) I reminded her that I was there for a blowout, she proceeded to blowdry my hair with no brush…just her hands, once I looked like a cave woman, she called over her instructor who approved her work, they asked me how I liked it, and I told them it is a poor excuse for a blowout…no discount was given and an attempt to charge me for the extra conditioner also took place. complete waste of my time!

1st experience hair style for event....wanted hair straighten with hot iron, she curled it with the straightner, when I questioned her, she stated "she was the proffessional and that was why I came there". I went home and straightened my own hair. This time, leaving monday on a trip, needed a hair color and partial foil...that is what I made the appointment for. Showed up, they had me down for highlights, and hadn't scheduled enough time for me to have done what I had requested. Ask to speak to educator and was told, "This is a school, if I need a color and a foil I probablly should go to a proffessional salon". I guess what I am trying to say is, CUSTOMER SERVICE or CUSTOMER REQUEST doesn't exsist in this company. If your time is worth nothing, and you don't care what you are having done, stylist choice...and you don't cae if they treat you with kindness, get your appointment right...this is the place to go.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!



I went in for a cut and color only to be told by the instructor (Miss Burgard) that the condition of my hair wasn't good enough for color. I was told to purchase these deep conditioning products then come back another time. I was quite irritated since I had taken the day off work and road 2 hours on the bus to get there so they did a strand test to prove to me that my hair wouldn't accept the color.



They did the strand test and when the instructor (Miss Burgard) came back over, she said "Good news. Your hair lifted great and the strand turned out wonderful and none of your hair fell out. " She then proceeded to tell me that I should just do my haircut and a deep conditioning treatment (on the house) then come back next week for color! I took today off work to get this done! Why would I want to come back next week when I was there right now?



I was irritated, but said ok. Might as well get the haircut since I was there, right? WRONG! The student stylist washed and deep conditioned my hair then started the haircut. She barely trimmed the back of my head then went to get her instructor (Miss Burgard) to help her with the framing and layers around my face. The student stylist then came back and told me that the instructor told her that they weren't giving me a complete haircut and that they would finish up the haircut next week when I came in to do the color! Why the hell would you give me half of a haircut and not finish it right then?



When I went to check out at the front desk, furious and in tears, she asked me how was my service and I told her the truth. IT SUCKED! My student stylist was super nice, but I didn't get ANYTHING done that I had come in for! NO COLOR AND HALF A HAIRCUT IS NOT OK!! Even the front desk lady was confused on why they didn't finish the haircut and went to ask the instructor (Miss Burgard), but then came back saying that my hair wasn't in good enough condition to do color (which was BS since they did the strand test) but gave no explanation as to why they didn't finish the haircut.



I left there upset and in tears over the COMPLETE waste of my time. I hopped on the next bus and headed to a REAL salon to get my hair done. When I told the real stylist what had happened at the Salon Academy, she laughed and said NEVER GO THERE! She said the condition of my hair was just fine for color and it turned out BEAUTIFUL. It was a little spendy (the only reason I went to the school to get my hair done was to save money) however spending the extra money was worth it.

I went to this school for Esthetics. Loved my experience, I would recommend this school. Worth every dollar

I went into the salon two days before my daughters wedding and had Amanda James put highlights and lowlights in my hair. She was a newer student, but the instructor was right there and Amanda was AMAZING! Been a repeat customer 3 times now and continuing to go back. I would highly recommend.

This place never does what you ask, they do what they want. The "educators" have the worse attitudes. They are so unprofessional. I will never return again. I do not recommend this place to anyone and it deserves 0 stars.

What a horrible experience I had a student work on my hair cut for 3 hours, all I wanted was a trim but I ended up getting 6 inches taken off. The student that was set up next to us was loudly talking about her gangster background and all the violent crimes she's witnessed. I started feeling panicky and wanted to leave but the instructor tried to convince me to buy their products.... No offense but I already have a massive amount of product I dont need anymore and I don't need more and I don't need to hear about "f'ing anymore b**ches up" if they look at you wrong and I didn't need this crappy haircut!!! Maybe this school should focus more on education then business

They suck and got no skills go repeat the course over again

Two weeks ago two of my nieces went to get their haircuts at their nice so-called salon but the effort that they put into it was so horrid. I could've taken them to super cuts or master cuts and they couldve done a way better job... Those Senior Stylist they have there are so not senior stylist and they need to restart the course again.. I'm sorry to say but dont go to that school for a haircut... They might be pretty but they got no skills...

Great cut, great stylists and great atmosphere. Gene Juarez look without the Gene Juarez price.

great inexpensive cuts and salon treatments

This place has stylists with passion, and teachers who are eager to teach the students. Love the cut and color, and love my stylist!
