I called Dicks and had someone at my house that day. After diagnosing the problem I was given an estimate of about 1200 to fix the problem, but was encouraged to just buy a new furnace from them for 2800, before instalation. When the technician left I checked the furnace and he left the covers off and the filter was on the ground in my back yard. I fixed the problem myself, with a little help from the internet, for 19.99 plus tax. He listed the 19.99 part for 178.00 before instalation and added 5 other things that needed to be replaced. I guess I never should have told him my husband was in the military and not expected to home for 2 more months and I was freezing. I feel he tried to take advantage of my situation.
