I was employed as a salesman for this Roofing Company. I will tell you that the commercial on TV is false-- John Achtens puts extreme pressure on all of his salesman to get the contract signed on the spot.
I was embarrassed at one of my clients homes, when John accompanied me and strong armed my client into signing a contract. She (Jeanie Birt) called me the following day(Saturday) and said she couldn't sleep because of the pressure John had put on her. She backed out of the contract.

John will have a roof loaded immediately after the contract is signed to prevent the homeowner from changing their minds. -By law they have 4 days.
One of my clients had changed her mind and wanted her deposit back. John dragged it out and made her fight for her money for two months.
If your going to do business with someone like John Joseph Achtens, you'd be smart to look into his arrest record with King and Pierce County. Shocking!!!! to say the least.

We were very pleased with Achten's quality of work and service. Our job was done in a timely manner and the work was done very neatly. Our flowerbeds were left in the same condition as before they started! Everyone was courteous and helpful. We would definitely recommend Achten's!

Jerry Gamache provided an exceptional detailed hands-on on-roof estimate (most other contractors never went on the roof for their estimate), multiple roofing options, and a super listing of client references. Jerry carefully managed the roof replacement and daily inspected the work in progress during the three day job. The work team was knowledgeable, experienced, and careful. Clean up during and at completion was through. The new roof looks great. We would not hesitate to choose Achten's Quality Roofing again.

My husband and i loved the work done by Achten Roofing on one of our rental properties. Very professional and clean. With minimal interruption to our tenants! this is a big plus for us to maintain good relationships with our renters. We had an all new roof put on, and our house has a very steep pitched roof. Everything was done in a day and a half with no issues at all. Loved dealing with Jerry, he was very attentive to our needs. The office people were great. we will definitely be using them again.

I really appreciate the service we received from Achten's Quality Roofing. Any time I had a question, they responded promptly. Our estimator, Jerry, was very helpful and pleasant to work with. The four man crew came out and ripped off our old roof and put up a new one in just over six hours. Everyone at Achten's was pleasant and friendly. A very easy company to work with. We have used Achten's Quality Roofing twice to reroof two different houses. Both times, we were very happy with the entire process, from getting the quotes to inspecting the finished work. I live in the NE tacoma area and with all the storm and power outages Achtens was able to get my leak fixed within a week!! They were very professional and fast I couldnt believe how fast they got it done and really cared that I had water coming into my daughters room.

We live out of state and we were putting our rental property up for sale. Per the inspection report we needed to replace the entire roof, but we were in a time crunch. We called to make an appointment to have someone go and take a look and give us a quote. The sales rep was very nice and returned a quote to us via email very quickly and was able to schedule us right away. We had been talking to other roofing companies and they were 4-6 weeks out, and since we had already received an offer on the house, we couldn't wait that long. They made arrangements to get started on the roof immediately and finished it within 2 days. We received pictures of the finished product and everything looked wonderful and clean. Everything was clean and no trash was left on the property. We would definitely recommend Achten's to everyone who is needing a roof!!

Needed our roof to be replaced and wasn't sure where to turn, but after some searches on Google it became clear that Achten's Roofing was a great contractor with a fantastic track record of successful installations. The roofers took two days to do the whole job, and they were careful at every step of the process, including a thorough clean up that left our home looking beyond what we expected at the end of the job. Solid work and we are glad we chose Achten's for the project, will surely be recommending them to others that need a new roof installed.

Achten's Roofing Company replaced my 26 year old starting to leak roof with a new 50 year warranty roofing product. The roof look beautiful and the price was as quoted. The only addition in price was an item I discussed which involved three (3) pieces of sheeting which were bad.



The work crew was great and completed the roof in two and a half days. The crew also cleaned up after each work day.

We are very happy with our new roof. We only had a few minor issues, but after talking with our sales manager, those issues were cleared up immediately. The day after the roof was put on, we had a huge rain storm. No leaks, no problems.

The estimator was helpful and able to guide us through all of the available options for a new system that would keep us satisfied. Clean up was also professional and thorough, and the crews were organized and helpful all the way through. Would highly recommend them to anyone seeking a new roof installation.

We interviewed 3 reputable local Roofing contractors prior to awarding the job to Achten's Quality Roofing.

Choosing a roofing contractor can be a daunting task. I had had pervious experience with another local roofing contractor 10 years ago, pretty much knew the sales pitch etc., and I knew the Hard Sell tactic, which I was not going to allow to sway my judgment.



We choose Achten's Quality Roofing, because overall, we thought that Achten’s would be the best fit for us.

Our roof was a very difficult roof with a very steep pitch and many dormers.

We wanted all the obvious things like quality of workmanship & materials. We wanted the primo warranty. We also wanted a local company that used quality products like GAF Master Elite and didn’t take advantage of us.

We especially liked the way that Gary Sparks presented himself and the company! Gary was full of great information; not pushy, very thorough, Very professional! Gary noticed many things that the other 2 bids did not address.

We also liked the fact that Gary was available to us throughout the whole job. Gary made the whole process a pleasure!



During the job there were a few serious issues found with the existing roof deck and they were quick to solve the problems in a timely manner! The Roofing crew was always punctual, extremely hard working

and efficient! The thorough clean up every day was much appreciated as we have dogs. They did a phenomenal job!

My husband was building a house when he passed away, the framing was done but no roof,I had 3 days before a big rainstorm was coming in, friends told me about they'r good experience with Achten's. Carl Carlson came over with the contract and the roof was done before the rain that was in 2014. This year a tree fell on the roof(different house)after a big storm the end of Aug.and I called Carl again and the day after somebody removed the tree the new roof was on. Both times I was very grateful .

We were in the process of selling our home and we needed to have our roof redone in order to go through with the selling. We were on a tight schedule and had a short timeframe to get it done. I called about 15 different roofing companies to get information on prices and availability. Most of them were rude and didnt even seem interested in gettting a job, or they were booked out 6 weeks, which was too long for us to wait. Prices were pretty similar throughout all the companies give or take a couple hundred dollars. We also needed specific things done in order to meet the requirements of our inspection. Not only was achtens a few hundred dollars cheaper than most the other companies, they were also very nice and worked so well with me to fit the job into their schedule to fit my needs. And they assured me that everything would be great for the inspection, which it was! And I dealt with the same man every time I called which was nice, because he always remembered me, he even remembered my dogs name! Achtens did a wonderful job, the roof looks great! It was affordable, they were fast and they worked with me to fit my schedule and needs! I recommended them to our realtor for her to recommend to other clients who may be in need of a roofing project!

After requesting bids from four highly recommended roofing contractors, I picked Achten's because of their salesman, Jerry. He was knowledgeable, confident and personable. I was very happy with the results. They performed above and beyond my expectations and only left with I was completely satisfied that the job was complete and excellent. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an excellent residential roofing contractor.
