On November 20, 2006, the District Court of Maryland entered Judgment in favor of a Plaintiff against Royal Oak Financial Services Inc in a case alleging Defamation. The suit alleged that beginning on or about June 2006, and continuing thereafter, Royal Oak published or caused to be published to credit bureau agencies false statements about the Plaintiff to the effect that, in or about January 2005 the Plaintiff established an account with Royal Oak or First Charge FInancial and was delinquent and indebted on this account. The statements were false and defamatory because the Plaintiff did not establish an account with Royal Oak nor was the Plaintiff delinquent or indebted to Royal Oak on this or any other account. The District Court of Maryland agreed with the Plaintiff and entered judgment against Royal Oak in favor of the Plaintiff.
