I use to work here and I quit because of how unsafe and unsanitary everything was. I was scared Gene was going to make someone sick and I didn't want to be the one serving what caused it. The food is not handled properly, things get cross contaminated ALL THE TIME AND EVERY DAY! Meats got thawed out on the floor in back room aka his office/food and wine storage. Theres so much more... So PLEASE do NOT eat here for ur own safety and ur families!!!

My girlfriend and I were at the beach for a nice girl weekend and decided to come here for dinner. As we were seated we were wondering why we were the only ones in the place at dinner time. Once the meals came, all was revealed!! $25 10 oz new york stip that was freezer burned. If i'm going to pay that much money for a steak then it can at least be a fresh hand cut steak. WHOLE peppercorns to cover it up, yes, I know I ordered the peppersteak, but WHOLE peppercorns? My friend ordered a shrimp dinner and it smelled horrible, later to get her sick. I do not suggest that anyone eat here! Overpriced horrible food!

Our daughter got married on Emerald Isle Beach and we wanted to have a small get together after the ceremony at our beach house. This restaurant was recommended to me by the Realtor that we rented our beach house off of. I just ordered the meat lasagna, salad and their homemade bread. It was delicious! Everyone raved about it. And the service was great, too! The food was deliverd and set up while we were at the beach for the ceremony. All we had to do was set out the plates, napkins and silverware. We had plenty of food for the number that we ordered. And, to top it off, the owner stopped by on his way home from the restaurant to pick up their supplies. I would recommend them to anyone. It really made the evening even more special. Thank you Gene.

This is really a great place to eat. The atmosphere is charming and the help is very friendly.

DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTRAUNT IF YOU HAVE HIGH BLOOD PREASURE OR IT WILL SKYROCKET!! Little help, server can't seem to remember to bring items ordered as we requested. Food cold, VERY HIGH PRICES, I MEAN NEW YORK CITY PRICES. $38.00 bottle of wine served in apertif glasses Outdated bridal decor. Plastic flowers.Obivious chef/owner is totally overwhelmed!!! Plan on 3 hrs for dinner. Salad almost microscopic and dull. Pasta dished for an italian leaning menu also dull. Just a plain bad experience. We will never eat there again and we live within 10 mins of the place. Would rather drive to Morehead city where there are good restraunts. Nothing in Swansboro can compare. All the restraunts there are overpriced for what you get.

I am not a steak eater, but you must try their New York Strip! It literally melts in your mouth! WONDERFUL! Also, the entire ambience of the White Oak River Bistro is absolutely wonderful. I took my husband there for his birthday, and we agreed that it is now our favorite restaurant in NC! We dined on the porch overlooking the White Oak River. The whole evening, the service, the food, the atmosphere could not have been more perfect.
