“Get back into life” is what the sign says when you walk into The Pain Center in Surprise. It should read “Get back into line”. What Dr. Shah lacks in ability, he makes up for with arrogance. My wife was diagnosed at Mayo Clinic with a very painful, post-radiation, incurable degenerative neurological disease and was treated by The Pain Center for over two years. I can’t believe we stayed with these people as long as we did. Dr. Shah’s arrogance runs so deep he can convince you that his incompetence and that of his staff is, in some way, your fault.
Incorrectly written prescriptions, complete absence of communication to fix errors, missed diagnoses, and finally, the straw that broke the camel’s back, lying. The whole story would take pages and these people aren’t worth the time. RUN to another provider!

I have seen Dr. Shah and his NP Cindy Cornell for over a year now. You are constantly kept waiting for long periods of time. Dr. Shah pushes for the injections and then if they do not work, he has no clue what to do for you. After that he sends in Cindy Cornell to deal with you. They over charge people with insurance too. I was charged $2000.00 for every set of pain injections. When I mentioned this to Dr. Shah, he said they don t even charge that much for their cash patients. His words exactly! After waiting over and hour and 15 minutes today to see Cindy Cornell, I was ticked. When she came in the room I let her know it too. She came back with an attitude saying that she is a provider and does not deserve to be spoken to like that. I said I was ticked, I did not raise my voice or curse. I said waiting over an hour was unacceptable and she said you have to wait for the people providing for you. I think NOT! I will find another doctor that has respect for their patients. My time is just as valuable as theirs!
