I have been dealing with these folks for TWO years and have not resolved anything. Started in 2016 when my husband and I realized that the tree next door - a property that they manage is destroying our driveway. I called every month for 6 months but no one responded. Finally my husband wrote to them early 2017. Someone responded and said they would look into it. They did nothing.... fast forward to early 2018. This time I told them I will get the lawyer involved then suddenly someone responded. They sent an "arborist" to check it out and of course they found nothing wrong - only to find out that the "arborist" was a gardener (what a liar)! So when I requested to see the full report, they said it is none of my business. We then hired a REAL arborist with a full report. Clearly showed that tree damaged our driveway. Not only is our driveway damaged, now the crack is all the way into our garage! The fence is falling too!! So they sent someone to fix the fence - instead of trimming the roots, they just built the fence around it on MY property instead of the property line!! The director Glenn finally wrote and asked if I had any quote for fixing the driveway - YAY! Finally.... then he wrote back and said he told the owner and the owner will call me. WOW - that's great news right?? But.... that was five weeks ago. So I wrote to Glen again asking for an update, and he wrote back such a condescending email as if I'm dumb! He added that the owner will call and he will no longer be responding to my email - whoa!! So - did he really tell the owner of the issue or is this another lie? If you were the owner wouldn't want to call to check on the issue and resolve it amicably? So either the owner is a liar and a cheat (which I highly doubt) or he hired a management company that doesn't care and lies to cover their backs!! I will be hiring a lawyer to pursue this matter.

Never do business with this company. They are disrespectful. They are never on the same page. Also, if English is not your first language dealing with the office staff is very difficult. Daniel is the manager and is very insincere when he dealing with customers. They showed a rental house to me and I accepted the price and submitted an application. Subsequently, I called the office numerous times and they asked me to wait because they are processing my application. After one week they said they had another family who had applied for the house. I am positive that I qualified for this rent. Do not do any business with them.

We do enjoy being tenants here

Our experience with hill and co has been a very good one. When called to say we might be leaving once our lease expired due to financial reasons they took the time to hear us out and offered to lower our rent for us to stay. We do enjoy being tenants here.

they take your deposit

We rented a townhouse from them from Oct 2008 to Oct 2009. Upon moving out we cleaned the apartment to be in the same conditions as we got it except for these items:

1. Forgot to clean stove drip pans and they charged us for replacement (fair)

2. Forgot to empty out two kitchen drawers which contained a couple of rubber-bands and empty wrappers.

They took pictures of places that were not dirty but broken/stained before we moved it, and used them to deduct our deposit.

The nature of the stains were such that we did not even note them on the move-in sheet, e.g. small rust stains in the fridge freezer section where the shelf rods and joined to the shelf perimeter, rust stain the dishwasher, some discoloration on the floor near the back yard. These are not stains that be removed and besides they were there when we moved in.

We disregarded them because the place was built in the '70s and was full of these minor items. However, they used this to charge us $200 for cleaning the ENTIRE house. The cleaners invoice included cleaning rooms/areas that were impeccably clean.

Be prepared for this if you rent from them. Better yet, don't rent from them.
