I have been a patient of Dr. Cool's for a 18 months. I have NEVER received such wonderful care until, by accident I stumbled upon this office 7 minutes from my home. I was searching for a new PCM and found her. There are two doctors in this practice, my husband sees Dr. Cool's associate Dr. Ku. From day one, Dr. Cool began treating me as a whole person. I have two rare conditions, and I have found two types of doctors in the past, the kind that are fascinated by my Moyamoya and the kind that RUN in the opposite direction. Dr. Cool is neither. She treats me like a human being and NOT some medical journal freak (which I kind of am). She treats me with the utmost respect, she is compassionate, kind, funny, and she's is also a no BS doctor. If I do something she doesn't like, she tells me to my face, in no uncertain yerms, Quit that sh*t. I love that about her. This is obviously a description of personality, so let's speak from a medical perspective. She is MORE than qualified as an Internal Medicine doctor. As I am unique in my medical pathology I occasionally present to her with some crazy thing going on, and I truly respect the fact that she will put her hands up and say "this is out of my scope of practice..." but having said that she follows with I will FIND someone who CAN handle this, and she always does. She is also the most observant doctor I've ever met. When I became her patient, because she treats me as a whole human being, instead of "just a chick with X, Y, Z wrong with her" she can see subtle things, like my pattern of speech if it is different from what she perceives my baseline speech pattern is and mentions it. After my most recent surgery I was a mess.... I could NOT articulate what I was feeling, my emotions were all over the place, I was a mumbling, bumbling, crying mess... She tried to understand what I was saying but she could not, because even I didn't understand myself. HOWEVER, because she took thee TIME to get to know me visit after visit, she was able to decipher most of what was wrong and sent me to the St. Josephs ER. I ended up needing an emergency surgery. I can NOT speak highly enough of her. In the aforementioned statement about her associate, Dr. Ku, my husband has nothing but positive experiences. The staff is kind, caring and they remember your name. That right there, is hard to find. I've NEVER had any issues of any kind. So, for those out there looking for a new doctor, look no further. If you want a terrific, smart, caring, compassionate, capable, observant doctor with a team of people working together to make every patient experience as positive as possible, you have found the right plave.
