The following is a ringing endorsement for Quick Lane Auto Center in Summersville, WV. On a 1600-mile journey from Florida to Ontario, our 2011 Nissan Pathfinder was showing increasing signs of possible brake problems, until we suddenly started feeling that dreaded “woomp-woomp-woomp-woomp” vibration in the front wheels when the brakes were employed. We pulled over in Summersville, WV for the night, having found online a Quick Lane Auto Center that opened early the next morning. I showed up 15 minutes before opening, at 7:45 AM (it was a Saturday morning), in hopes that the folks at Quick Lane could crowbar me into their schedule and take a look and fix the problem sometime before the end of the work day. I was prepared for a long wait. Did I ever have a happy surprise coming to me! 

The Service Advisor, Mark Tolley, was both welcoming and reassuring—in spite of there being a reduced number of mechanics on duty that Saturday morning, he told me they would take a look within the next half-hour and see what was going on, in hopes that it wasn’t too serious and that we could get back on the road to Canada. 

The problem was diagnosed by the mechanic, Joe: our 7-yr-old salt-corroded rotors were about to give out. Mark and Joe brought me back into the service bay to show me the problem, to recommend replacing the rotors (they looked horrible), and to tell me that we had been very wise to pull off the highway when we did. They said they could order the necessary parts right away, have them delivered from the auto parts place in town, that it would not take long to install them, and that we’d be on our way before noon. They were true to their word, except that I was out of there before 11 AM, at a financial and time cost that was far less than what I’d been expecting.
