Absolutely the worst experience of my life. I had a prong replaced on my engagement ring. MY diamond was etched with Zales.....the one that was replaced by Osborn's had no mark, was a lesser size and color diamond. By the time I really realized it, I did go back in. The owner was adamant that it was my diamond, she was aloof and would not do anything about it. I suspect it may have been her son who did the switching, because she said it was just her and him in the shop. I went to the local police dept., and they said it was a civil matter. Not in my mind. They stole my diamond. Sadly, my husband said we were not going to sue them over the situation, but I do hope they answer for it someday. Every day I have a reminder when I look at my ring. It's heart breaking. I wanted to trash talk them on Facebook, etc., but that seemed to make me no better than them. I do, however, tell everyone who asks me about jewelry repair in our town. NO WAY I will ever recommend them, and I tell anyone who will listen how they stole my diamond. Shame, shame, shame on them. NOT a reputable, honest business. AND....if she truly is honest, then she should have investigated further, and taken the matter to the son....who could have been the thief. She wouldn't even admit there there could be a problem. Terrible business practice.
