The Doctors are very nice and really good. Josephine Diaz, PA is the worst. She can not diagnose the problem with the patient after examination. I would never go to her.

Dr Anastasio struck me as someone who is often confused at our first appointment together. I made an appointment with him because I was switching doctors and looking for a new one. He asked me a few questions about my medical history, my temperature was taken, and I was weighed. That was it. Then he continued to talk about his home life and how his wife had never wanted children -- I had never asked for this information nor did I wish to receive it. After listening all about his three kids that he "managed to get out of her", he asked me repeatedly if I would recommend my friends and family to the practice, which doesn't seem to have a lot of patients. Overall, he made me feel very uneasy to trust him with my health and I will not be returning (and neither will my friends or family!).

I was thrilled to find a practice in Suffield, close to home. Until I went to my first appointment. After I had checked in, I heard the receptionists whispering about my insurance with questions they had. Instead of asking me, they were saying "oh just write that down as the social, it looks like a social". What?! Then, I heard them whispering about me personally. Keep in mind this was my first appt and we are new to town. Yet these catty receptionists were whispering very loudly about me. I am in my twenties, married, we have one child and one on the way. The receptionist clearly and loudly whispered "Hey, she's pregnant -- she looks like she's TWELVE." I confronted the main one and told her she was extremely rude and that she should never EVER talk about patients, whether it be negative or positive. I told the DR (Dr Anastasio) what happened, giving them one last chance to redeem themselves. He responded "I don't know how you would overhear them talking about you, I wonder how that came up!" Excuse me? I would never recommend this practice to anyone, and it seemed like they were hard for patients -- the DR proceeded to pressure me to recommend my friends and family to the practice. No way!

I trust these Dr's. They are not going to try and push high price scripts on you, but tell you the honest truth of how to get better. ******HOWEVER****** Many of the people who take your blood pressure etc(they do not derserve to be called nurses) pre-doctor are AWFUL. One, older women olive skin and dark hair I overheard laughing and telling other nurses my symptoms right outside the door. I have also had numerous awful run-ins with a homely nurse Danielle. She complains of headaches and asked me if she could have some of my presecription pain killers. I know friends of her's who tell me the "headaches" are withdrawal driven from her Opiate (specifically anything OXY) addiction. NOT A GOOD PERSON TO BE AROUND MEDS or patients who may actually feel sorry for her and share.

Josephine Diaz and her fellow ...

Josephine Diaz and her fellow physicians take ALL the time they need to answer your questions and concerns. Sometimes people are annoyed that they run behind. That's because the doctors care and don't brush you off. If Josephine sees me in the book, she automatically rearranges to allow me two blocks because she knows my history.

If you want to be seen perfectly on time by a cookie-cutter doctor, go somewhere else. If you want a caring and patient staff, suck it up, prepare to have to wait and go here.

The few negative comments I've heard are about the oldest physician, and seemed to be complaints that they didn't get Rx's for painkillers and/or tranquilizers. Yes, if you're a recreational pharmaceutical user and want to "doctor shop," don't waste your time here. Find an unethical "professional" (cough) elsewhere.

Walk in? I walked out.

I am new to the area and can't find a doctor accepting new patients before the first of the year, so I thought I'd try the Suffield walk-in clinic in the meantime. The receptionists seemed shocked that I was a walk-in patient (so much so that for a moment I thought I was in the wrong place!), then proceeded to be so unhelpful, rude, and loud - no one needs or wants to hear about my insurance or what's wrong with me - that I was glad I'd have to wait until after lunchtime to be seem: at least an hour and a half. I left and I won't be back.

Doctor, I'm sorry I don't know who you are, but please ask your receptionists to work on their bedside manner! That is the last kind of attitude I want to deal with when I'm sick!
