Friday May 18th, 2012. We took our cat to get groomed (she is a long haired Persian cat) into Bark Avenue. She was dropped off at 8am and Leslie told me she would call when she was finished. I called her at 11:35 am to see if she was done. At that time Leslie told me she had not gotten to her yet but she would call when she was done (she has a client info card with our phone numbers). Unfortunately, we did not receive any phone call. After work, I started to call Bark Avenue over and over with no answer. I left several messages. My husband and I drove immediately to the shop. Upon my arrival all the lights where off and all doors were locked. I continued to call with no answer. On the back storefront I noticed our cat carrier inside a cage. We peered inside and saw our cat inside the carrier. There was NO FOOD, WATER, or LITTER! We immediately contacted animal control. Once animal control arrived, they had the owner’s, Leslie, home phone number due to a prior incident. Fortunately, animal control was able to get in contact with Leslie. This was extremely fortunate, as the shop’s hours are closed on weekends, meaning the owner would not have been back to her shop for a few days! Leslie’s response to us and the animal control officer was that she "forgot our cat was there.” By the time the owner got to her shop, it was after 7pm. So for almost 11 hours NO FOOD, NO WATER AND WITHOUT ANY LITTER. Upon getting our cat into the car you could smell the urine inside the carrier. When she was taken out of the crate at home, she had to be given another bath her due to the fact she was covered urine. Never would we have imagined such a scenario taking place. For obvious reasons, we will never be going to Bark Avenue again.

I had my Shih-Tzu and Standard Poodle groomed here recently and I could not believe my eyes! What a difference a good grooming makes! The owner is a nice lady. She really takes her time and is so friendly to the dogs. She took the time to talk to me and really find out what I wanted and what kind of home my dogs lived in... inside, outside, active or not, kids at home or not, those kinds of things. I am truely happy I found Bark Avenue.
