Alice Greene, MD received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed her residency in Primary Care Internal Medicine at New York University. She is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine and recently completed a Primary Care Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of California at Irvine, which affirmed her love of psychiatry. Dr. Greene received her B.A. in English from Columbia University. She worked for two decades as an Assistant Professor at Stony Brook Medicine, where she practiced both inpatient and outpatient medicine, taught medical students and residents, and pioneered physician training in Lifestyle Medicine, which aims to prevent and even reverse chronic disease through sustainable lifestyle changes. This includes a whole-food and plant-forward diet, regular physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substances, and positive social connection. Dr. Greene now focuses almost exclusively on Telepsychiatry. With twenty-five years of experience in medicine and behavioral change management, she embraces a holistic approach to mental health - considering diet, exercise, relaxation, and fun as integral to a healthy and happy spirit. Additionally, she considers medication an important steppingstone to empowering her clients to live the lives they envision for themselves. Dr. Greene loves talking with her patients and listening to the stories of their lives. She is interested in understanding the impact of their past experiences on their mental health and in helping them to rediscover their resilience and zest for life.
