We drive an hour to board our dog here (and dogs past) and are pleased with this kennel. I love that it is not a requirement to groom the dog before it exits, as we have experienced with other kennels. Just be prepared, you need to bag your own dog food and payment is upfront in cash. I have found they may not inform you of this at every booking.

We brought our Chocolate Lab Lily here for obedience training when she was a puppy. And We've also boarded her here for our summer vacation. She loved it and came back home super happy and clean :) The progress report for the weekend was a great added touch and we will definitely bring her here again.

I logged into this site just to obtain the phone number of Champion Kennels and could not believe the review written by Everygirl3.



I have two yellow labs that I treasure. The breeder recommended Champion Kennels for training. I have taken both my Brienne and Bella to Champion for Puppy Kindergarten, beginer class, and advanced class. My dogs quickly became attached to Cindy the owner and got very excited when we were approaching the Kennel. They LOVE her, as do I. Julie conducted the beginner and advanced class and she is just a sweetheart. The entire staff there are great with my girls and I would not recommend anywhere else! They are professional, loving, highly skilled in dog obediance and training. My girls are just one yrs old, and we are going to sign up for a refresher class for both of them.



The comment about the “extra dime” was just immature and rude. My Brienne was so smart I wanted to place her in the advanced class but did not have enough money at that time. Cindy waived some of the cost for me as she cared more for my pet than she did for her business!



I have also been on site and spoke with other customers that were having their dogs groomed, and only heard positive comments. Everygirl3 should go back and experience Champion again, I just feel bad that her comments may deter a loving dog owner from going there, and rob a precious pet from the experience!

I cannot speak for the grooming but this is a wonderful woman who allows children from our 4-h club to use her training room every saturday. I am a local groomer and know how easy it is to ha e abad day please do not judge this kennel on one review. A friend

I am writing to review the grooming service at this kennel (which is recommended after boarding - even the owner admits this!). I definitely will never board my dog there again- the owner treats her customers so poorly, I would not subject my dog to the same treatment. The owner is an absolute witch and will try to get an extra dime out of you any chance she gets. But the worst part of the place has to be the grooming service. The grooming is absolutely horrendous. Not only did the groomer not follow my specific instructions - not to cut the dog's hair- but instead groomed a long haired dog into almost a poodle style. And even at that, the cutting was horrible. And, to boot, the owner tried to charge extra for it. I don't know if this was a cover for the obvious botched job or if they are actually blind. I would definitely look elsewhere - there are plenty of good groomers out there.
