I have been cleaning carpets for about 12 years now. I began my career working for a company that had its own way of doing things. I then went to work for a more forward-thinking company that encouraged educational opportunities. I proceeded to become certified in carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning through the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification program. Otherwise know as the IICRC, this organization prides itself in being on the cutting edge of practices and procedures in the cleaning industry. It is also the industry standard that protects, legally, both the carpet cleaner and the homeowner from unscrupulous business practices by either party. Through this program, I discovered that there was a better, more thorough way of cleaning carpet and, in many cases, a way to clean them to a point that they literally became better than brand new.
