I was referred there to my dentist for a tooth extraction and when I get my bill, I have a $90.00 consultation fee. There was no consultation done I was a referral for a tooth extraction. The doctor came in, looked at my tooth and made sure that the tooth he was looking at was the one that was going to get extracted, gave me a few shots to numb me up, let the room for about 5 minutes, came back and took another 1-2 minutes to pull my tooth and that was it! So, I called and talked to them about this and they proceed to tell me that it's really an "examination" fee. The billing person tells me that "you need to pay for Dr. Pettit's time since he looks at your health history, does an examination and this also covers the people up front who takes your information". Then she lets me talk to their office manager who explains the same thing and also added, "They always charge this for any new patient". Really? You charge $90.00 for simply glancing over the paperwork I completed, making sure that the tooth he was going to pull was the one he numbed up and for the office people that need to put the information in the computer? Plus, of course, there is also an extraction fee, which I am OK with but to pad the bill $90.00 just to cover their overhead, is completely ridiculous in my opinion! I figured that maybe after I talked to them that they would be like "Well, let me see if we can do anything for you" but instead I got the "You've got to pay for the doctor's time and that's the bill" attitude. I will NEVER go back to this doctor and I would strongly recommend no one else does either! Oh, and if you pay with a credit card, they charge you an additional 4%! Heaven forbid they actually pay ANYTHING for the normal cost of doing business! I believe the most I've ever seen a credit card company charge is 3% and that was for an American Express credit card, so they are now MAKING money for a person to use their credit card! The final note about this practice is on their website where is states at the very top, "Kindness, compassion & respect". Yep, as long as you pay their ridiculous prices! Again, this place is a joke!!!!

Had two extractions by Petit. Have Anthem Blue Cross and was told that since Petit is a preferred provided and is under contract to submit claim to insurance before requesting payment from patient. Petit's staff REFUSED to submit claim and demanded full payment at time of service! When I contacted Anthem I was told since he is an oral surgeon and this was considered surgery Anthem sent claim forms to be filled out by Petit and myself. Filled out my portion and took forms to Petits office. Staff was extremely rude and reluctantly submitted one form. Anthem received only one form which is being processed. They only sent ONE claim form. Anthem will call their office and request the other form. When I went for the Consultation my sister was with me. Petit stated that I would "take a nap and would wake up and not remember anything." This was not the case! He started the IV and I relaxed somewhat but felt everything! I cried and told him that I was in pain. He told me to stop crying and that he was not hurting me. I even heard the conversation between him and his assistant regarding a couple who were having marital problems. After both surgeries Petit NEVER called to check on me. He denied that he made the statement about "taking a nap and waking up with no memory of the procedure." My sister was with me at the Consultation and she vividly recalls his statement. When I had to go back due to continuing pain Petit informed me that he NEVER told his patients anything like that. He made the same statement to me at both consultations before my surgeries! Would never recommend Petit to anyone!

Had extraction on Thursday a few weeks ago, and on Sunday afternoon Dr. Pettit himself called to make sure I was doing ok! Would not think of going anywhere else!

I highly recommend Dr. Petit! I had six wisdom teeth that I needed to get cut out. I got an IV when I got there they explained everything in the IV and I was asleep within a minute! When I woke up my Mom told me it only took Dr. Petit about 15 minutes to get them out!! I woke up right away after my surgery! Not to mention people come all the way to Springfield,Ohio from out of state just to go to him! He even called me later that night to check on me! He definitely knows what he's doing! If I ever need work done on my mouth again, he's who I'll be going to without a doubt!

Highly recommended! My dentist broke my tooth while trying to extract it. I was sent to Dr Pettit who after the numbing process, had the tooth out and stitched in about 1 minute. Thanks Dr. Pettit!

i recommend not going to dr. pettit. i personally had a tooth, a molar, exctracted and it was, of course painful. instead of the dr. writing a script for a pain medication, etc. he called my pharmacy, found out i had a script filled for darvocet 13 months prior. one script. he then took my money, sent me on my way, and i later discovered he had called in motrin to the pharmacy! absolutely ridiculous. i was in pain for days, unnecessarily. never again.
