These low-life humans screwed over my buddy with the fraudulent act of towing his car with expired plates. Not sure why anyone would ever choose to go to this company after their immoral business practices have been exposed time and time again. Truly a disgusting company.

We hired them to find my brothers stolen van which occurred in Springfield Mo. gave them as much info. as possible, but continuously couldn't get thru to them, said their phones lines were down. We were told that their not going to waste their gas looking for it unless we could give them better leads and that's when I said so you want me to do your job for you. O.M.G. useless . Would never ever recommend them to anyone. We gave them Names of the people that stole it, everything we could and they still couldn't find it.

RON MANSKER/VIPER BITE TOWING CHARGED WITH EXTORTING MONEY FOR EXPIRED LICENSE TAGS

http://www.ky3.com/news/local/towing-firm-is-accused-of-defrauding-car-owners-with-expired-plates/21048998_37034948

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - A towing company, one of its owners, and an employee are accused of extorting money from people because their vehicles' license plates had expired. Police and prosecutors say Viper Bite Towing and Recovery patrolled a private parking lot without consent of the businesses that own and use the lot, and deceived people into paying money not to have their cars towed away

Viper Bite Towing and Recovery; co-owner Ronnie Mansker, 38; and Jerry Klekamp, 50, are charged with theft by deceit, attempted theft by deceit, and disturbing the peace. All the crimes are misdemeanors that could result in fines or time in the county jail.

In three cases that led to the charges, according to the probable cause statements, a tow truck driver would hook up to a car with an expired plate in a parking lot on Kimbrough Avenue near Elm Street, just south of Firehouse Subs and Qdoba restaurants. When the car owner discovered his or her car was about to be towed, the tow truck driver would ask for $150 to unhook from the car.

Police found a sign on the parking lot that said the parking lot owner contracted with Viper to patrol the lot for expired tags. Morelock Ross, a construction and property management company, owns the lot and a manager told police that the company hadn't contracted with Viper. Managers of Firehouse Subs and Qdoba also told police that they didn't hire Viper to patrol the lot. After police started investigating, the sign disappeared.

In one case, a car owner told police that he paid $150 to Viper to prevent a tow. In a second case, the owner said he negotiated and paid an $80 fee instead of $150 to prevent a tow. In a third case, in which police went to the lot after a disturbance ensued, the car owner didn't have to pay Viper after the officer showed up.

Greene County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Patterson says people should be aware that "there is no authority for a vehicle to be towed from a parking lot open to the public based solely on expired license plates or state inspections."

Records at the Missouri Secretary of State's Office list the organizers of Viper Bite Towing and Recovery, LLC, as Ronnie Mansker, Starr Mansker, Marguerite Martin, and Ray Mecham. The company registered with the Secretary of State's Office on Oct. 23, 2014, with Ronnie Mansker listed as its registered agent and the other three as co-organizers.

The co-organizers of the company apparently had a falling-out, however. Martin and Mecham, who share an address in Springfield, sued the Manskers, Viper Bite Towing and Recovery, Allied Recovery Service, Anthony and Sonia Jones, and International Investigative Service last July for fraud and misrepresentation.

Viper Bite towing and Recovery operates from 1901 W. Division St. in Springfield. That's where a reporter found Mansker on Friday afternoon. He denied he's done anything wrong, said he had a contract to patrol the Firehouse Subs lot for illegally parked vehicles, and said he would hire an attorney and fight the misdemeanor charges.

Do they know how to run a legit business?

You can't tow people cars with expired tags. Only police officer can issue a ticket, then request your car be impounded.

I hope the city revokes their license; because clearly they don't know how to operate a legit business...

Next time these scumbags try to tow your car, stand in front of the car or get into your car, while it's hooked up and call the police, yeah if you have expired tags they gonna probably give you a $75 ticket, but the police will make them drop your car.

Just helpful advice

BEWARE OF VIPER BITE TOWING - $1 (SPRINGFIELD)

BUSINESS OWNERS.... SHOPS.... Beware this company came and told us they would give a good deal on towing for our customers... So we gave them a try THE first thing they did was to try and talk our customer into towing it to there shop for repair saying they could do any job for less money....

LUCKY for us, the customers we have are loyal to us, and have ALWAYS BEEN TREATED RIGHT.....

The customer informed us immediately of what the towing company was doing.... and I am sending the warning out to all other shops around...

I WILL NOT RECOMMEND this company to ANYONE. That is a crooked way of doing business you guys SUCK.... YOU WANT CUSTOMERS,,,, DO LIKE THE REST OF US EARN THEM.
