It Takes Time

Dr. Davis spent a lot of time with me helping me to understand what I needed to do to feel better. Since I am a difficult case, I think that she did more than any other doctor I have seen before to help me. Her staff is nice. She doesn't have a long waiting list and I could always get an appointment to be seen in just a few days. Sometimes she even saw me on Saturday when I needed help right away.

THERE IS NO MAGIC CURE!

I have been to a number of physicians in Springfield, both those who specialize in psychiatry and those who do not. All of them except Dr. Davis saw me for about 5 or 6 minutes, gave me prescription drugs and that was that. Dr. Davis is the only one that took the time to talk to me and to obtain the tests necessary to diagnose and treat my ailments. Whenever possible she tried to use a safer non-prescription substance to help me rather than a drug. That is what I wanted her to do though; I was not looking for a quick fix. It is true she doesn't participate in insurance programs and expects to be paid for the time she spends with patients and yes, she does get on a roll sometimes and provides more information than I could take in at the moment, but overall she is the most caring physician I have ever been to.

Disorganized

Davis is apparently a compassionate person but I don't think I would go to her again. I have concerns in her treatment, but I knew they would be different due to the nature of the care we were looking for. I just thought it would help which it didn't. My biggest concern, however, is that her notes are frequently wrong. She put in her doctor's notes symptoms we never discussed, treatments we didn't talk about, and family history that isn't present. I don't know if she was waiting too long to write this stuff down or why there were so many errors but it is definitely concerning when she is recommending treatments based on incorrect information. I have stopped treatment with her based on this, the lack of improvement in my child, and money (4.50/minute - ouch!).If you choose to treat with Doctor Davis, I would recommend recording conversations with her (she goes fast so it's hard to take good notes), asking for copies of her notes/recommendations, and labs, and take it slow.

Gather your own views about this doctor...with EVIDENCE.....not presumptions

I don't know about adult treatments, but ever since I spoke to the office about my son's autism treatment, they have been very accomidating. Dr. Davis founded Camp CoCo in this area and also Fun Shop.....what a con artist (NOT!). As a DAN doctor, I find hope in all the research I have done regarding my son's ASD and feel confident she will help me recover my boy or at least make him much healthier than he is today. I agree that her payment arrangements are slightly odd compared to what I'm used to, but being in the medical profession, I understand she would also like to get paid at the end of the day. I received prior written notice and signed an agreement of my understanding of the payment process. I do know that Dr. Davis is the autism expert in this area that is on the boat about the latest treatment plans available for ASD and I can't wait to journey into the recovery process with her. Also, I loved her office staff-very nice and genuine.

Bad Idea

This is the second time I've written a review - my first was not accepted, although I don't know why. I cannot emphasize enough that I think no one should be going to this doctor. Her medical knowledge is sometimes wrong and her billing practices are unethical.

Waste of Money

Dr. Davis, though seemingly compassionate and caring, is a bit of a con. Most importantly, from a medical standpoint, she claims to know much more than she actually does. She makes big promises, but you're better off going somewhere else. And, although I think some supplements can be beneficial, she had me taking more than 50 pills a day--most of which she sold or "gave" me. Later, I realized the supplements were interacting with each other and causing side effects. She charges more than $4.50 a minute for appointments that are hours long (the appointments are so long partially because she often waits on other patients while your clock is running). Part of the problem is that, even though I asked what I was being charged, her office could not/would not tell me. I only found out after it posted to my credit card. In my case, they posted charges months--in some cases up to 8 months--after services have been given. And they won't see you unless you keep your credit card on file with the

Stay Away from this crazy physician

Dr. Davis is a quack and has swindled thousands of dollars from my mentally ill elderly mother. Dr. Davis is a smart physician that skates on the edge of the law. Dr. Davis befriend my mother in an unprofessinal manner, took her to her personal residence and kept information from family members that had legal guardianship. Dr. Davis would not hospitalize my mother as Dr. Davis does not have practicing priviledges at the local hospitals. I have sought legal advise on my mother's rights and attempting to recoup some of the revenues that were lost. Stay away and pass the word.

So Sweet and So Caring!

You couldn't ask for more from a doctor. Dr.Davis is a one of a kind lady that is willing to go above and beyond. She is someone that will stay in my heart forever. Not only did she help heal me she was a friend through it all. Thanks Dr. Davis!
