I ordered a pricey Black Forest Cake for mothers day. Looked pretty good except on top they used little gobs of cherry pie filling for decorations. Never seen that before. They were not very decorative. The whipped cream "frosting" was good. The chocolate cake was pretty good. The cherry filling was missing!!!

In place of the cherry filling, there was two layers of vanilla pudding!! Not bad pudding Not bad cake, but I paid a bunch of money to get my wife's favorite, BLACK FOREST CAKE. and I didn't get it.
I have seen a lot of variations on Black forest cake, sometimes they use cherry pie filling, sometimes canned (and drained) cherries, sometimes combined with a thin layer of buttercream to help hold things together, some times with a little Kirsch or other liquor to add some flavor. But if it ain't got two heavy layers of some kind of cherries, it ain't black forest cake.

I love eating at Euro Bakery. The owners are friendly and the food is absolutely delicious and fresh. They have mouth watering chips with tzatziki and the Lamb dish is out of this world. Soups are made daily and a very large selection of teas. YUM!!!
