I have had dogs all my life but I got MY first dog that was all mine was found here at the Western Hills Humane Society. He was dropped off, then adopted by another family but turns out it just wasn't the right fit for the family or the dog. I came into the shelter and told them i wanted a Big Black dog that had been at the shelter for a while, they had taken me to one or two other dogs and they were some of the sweetest dogs but not MY dog. then i came to another dogs kennel ( who came home with me) and i knew he was the dog for me. he had been there the longest because he was only about a year old, black, and BIG!!!! we gave him a few months to grow up and then i took him to doggie class, he graduated top of his class, i took him to 4-H for his Canine Good Citizen. first test he got nervous and peed on the floor so we didnt pass but our second shot he passed with flying colors. I signed him up for agility, showmanship, obedience, and rally. he got 1 second,2 firsts and one purple in his first show in 4-H. I took him to his first AKC dog show and he got a 4th and a 2nd. We are currently working on getting him his therapy dog certificate! Who ever said that a pound puppy cant do anything!? ha ha :)
