Just purchased a new home and the dishwasher that came with the house quit working. I went to Johns Appliance City and got a deal on a new one. Had a great salesman and got it at a low price. NEVER have had any problems with it at all.

It seems like only unhappy customers write reviews, and I can't imagine after 30 years John's only has unhappy customers! It's so awesome seeing a family business doing well after so many years. Unlike big-box retailers, I like that John's will come out to service my appliances - even though it's not "their" product, they stand behind it so customers don't have to wait weeks for the manufacturer to come out. Keep up the good work, John's!

Unacceptable Business

This company does not help their customers but overcharge them for faulty products. They do not know how to fix the appliances they sell and refuse to stand by their products. We bought a refrigerator from them in 2010 and had the issues start 6 months after the purchase. We have had their company out to fix the same problem multiple times in the last four years. When we complained they pointed the finger at the manufacturer and the manufacturer (Whirlpool), didn't stand by their product either. We usually buy all of our appliances with this company and we will never do business with them again. They do not care about their customers, service, or products. It's a scam business. The last time we had them out to fix the same problem they always supposedly "fix" it. They had to leave us without a fridge for a week and a half because the part we needed had to be ordered. This part we needed is a standard part and any appliance repair service company should have it on hand. The company is lousy with the keeping of their records too. They only had a record of the repair last year. They clearly are uneducated in their work and do not know how to run a successful business.

Good place to do business with! This past weekend (11/1/13) I purchased a heater/air conditioner unit for my condo. Ken Hall my salesman was excellent. Very helpful, good price, speedy on-time delivery & install. Would not hesitate to recommend or purchase from this store again. And I would highly recommend Ken.

Shop at John's where the customer is always wrong! Re: the Beville Road, South Daytona store. On 3/5/2013 I needed parts for a range. I called John’s parts dept over and over again. Parts, please hold…6 minutes later someone hung up on me. I waited 10 minutes and tried again…Parts, please hold…. 5 minutes later someone hung up on me. I thought they must be busy so I waited a half hour and tried again only to be put on hold for 5 minutes before they hung up on me again. So I called and opted for sales saying I need parts but I keep getting put on hold and then cut off. Sales put me thru to Melinda the parts manager. She ordered the parts I needed with my credit card and cell phone number. I asked if she wanted my credit card billing address in NJ, or my address in New Smyrna Beach? She wanted my address in New Smyrna Beach. She offered to have my parts sent to their New Smyrna Beach location saying I’d get a call from them on Thursday when the parts came in. On Saturday I realized that I never got the call. I called the New Smyrna Beach store. After searching for 10 minutes they said there is no record of my order. I called the Daytona store. Melinda told me the parts came to Daytona by mistake and she tried to call me but could not reach me at the number I gave her. I went to Daytona to pick up the parts. Melinda waited on me. As I was about to leave the counter a very nasty, rude, woman came out of the back with her mouth stuffed full of food saying, “YOU GAVE US A BAD NUMBER! I could not reach you at this number!” She stuffed even more food into her mouth as she grabbed my receipt out of my hand and pointed to my address and phone number saying, “Look here, as soon as I saw this 908 I knew this was not a good number. 9-0-8 is not a good number.... 386, now that’s a good number” I thought, why is this woman being so nasty to me? And why isn’t Melinda telling her to swallow her food before speaking? She was incredibly nasty. She never considered that someone misunderstood me, or just typed it wrong. She acted like I was a criminal and I was trying to perpetrate some kind of credit card fraud by deliberately giving her a fake phone number. She showed me the back of the receipt where she wrote, “Not a good number, can’t call” Someone needs to tell that nasty woman a few things. When your mouth is full of food keep it closed. It’s rude and disgusting to talk while stuffing food into your mouth. Don’t treat customers with contempt and an accusatory tone. People from other states travel to Florida and bring our cell phones with us. My cell phone number does not magically change from area code 908 to the area code for the state I happen to go to. If you are a dim witted idiot, at least be civil to the customers. The customer is not always wrong. Sometimes it could be an honest mistake. Sometimes the clerk is too idiotic to be allowed outdoors without a leash and a muzzle. My number is typed correctly on the receipt. That moron never even tried to call me. I had food going bad in my refrigerator because I could not cook without the parts I was waiting for.

5 months after buying a brand new washer and dryer, the dryer stopped working. The dryer would not heat. My washer/dryer are still under warranty and haven't even paid off yet. I called on a Monday and was told they couldn't get a repair man out here until Friday. Then they called Wednesday to confirm the repair man to come on Thursday! Between 10-2. Receive a phone call Thursday at almost 1pm to tell me their apparent only repair man is sick and no one can come out until Monday. He comes Monday, tells me the service code the dryer is coming up with is "Heating panel outage" but it seems to be working he tells me and I quote "Could be anything and is just a guessing game at this point" So I called because my dryer is not heating, the dryer says the heating panel is broke BUT who knows?! After he left I did laundry, put it in the dryer...2 hours later still soaking wet!! I call, manager is unable to talk. She then leaves me a voicemail "I got your message, you can call me back if you want but I'm not going to do anything until I see the repair tech's paperwork at 5." I called she never once said sorry, never said they'd take care of it, never said anything reassuring or anything relatively close to what someone in customer service should say. Instead she was completely dismissive, didn't listen to anything I had to say, just kept telling me she couldn't do anything. I had her boss "JR" call me. I told him she was rude and he literally spent 10 minutes trying to convince me she was a nice person and the repair man was the best of the best. He kept saying "life happens" and "hang in there" like this wasn't their wrong doing and somehow my problem. He even suggested other repair companies. They toke NO responsibility for this and treated me as some sort of annoyance. It took the credit card company to tell them they were going to dispute the charges for them to do anything!! Once that happened they were overly polite and so gunhoe to help. Sent out two repair men out here, they removed the broken heating piece and told me it was fixed. Then a couple days later they call saying my new piece is in, which I didn't know it was needed. They send out the first repair man to put it in. He tells me all confused, this new piece is already in there. So who even really knows if my dryer is missing a piece or not! Everyone who works for this company is completely unorganized, unprofessional, rude and has NO customer service! Worst experience I've ever had with a business! I wouldn't suggest anyone buying from them! I'm in complete shock that this company has survived conducting themselves in this manner

BEWARE- DON'T PURCHASE FROM JOHN'S APPLIANCE, you'll get ripped off!

Actually I wouldn't even give John's Appliance City one star. I should have gone with my first feeling when I walked into the store and I should have walked right out. I was looking for a stainless steel top mount refrigerator / freezer at the Orange City store. The salesman originally told me they didn't make what I wanted and I "have" to take the french door style instead. We were about to walk out when he suggested that he could order what we wanted. OK, we ordered it and waited 2 weeks for delivery. The WRONG refrigerator was delivered (delivery person was very nice). My husband and I went to the store to discuss the situation and then the Manager (who placed the special order) started yelling at me, the customer. At that point I told her that "now I want to cancel the order". They gave us a credit slip. Last night I checked my credit card online and saw that they also charged the full price to my account. I am soooo disappointed that John's Appliance City is taking advantage of people. BEWARE -- DO NOT purchase from them. There are too many other stores that want our business, don't need to get yelled at when THEY ordered the wrong item and charged me twice and credit once. ATCHLEY's is much friendlier and you get what you order.
