About Michelle Michelle Wright has been with Beacon for 16 years. After starting her medical career as a Patient Care Assistant, she was encouraged and supported by everyone she worked with as she moved up the ladder. She’s been a Registered Nurse (Certified OB), a Specialty Nurse (maternal fetal medicine and OBGYN), a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room and finally became a Midwife. “I’m a healthcare professional who provides care to women. That includes: gynecological, prenatal, labor and delivery, and postnatal visits,” she says. “After my delivery experience of my first child, I remember thinking to myself, ‘I want to be a midwife and give everyone the care they deserve, regardless of age or income.’ ” Her philosophy as a provider is to deliver compassionate, dignified, and holistic care to all her patients. In her work she is reminded that each person’s experiences in life can shape their perception of the world. “Nobody has the exact same experience – learn from them,” she says. From her education she learned that passion and determination will push you on the tough days. She strives to be her patients’ advocate and finds solutions through shared decision making and evidence-based practice. Michelle hopes her patients can say, “She empowered me and gave me a voice in my medical care.” In her own words… Who is or was the most influential people/role models in your life?  On a personal level, my children are the most influential.
