Would avoid. Posts drunk pictures of himself publicly on Facebook. Not a good role model for kids because of this. Didnt find him trustworthy as a therapist.

Has been extremely helpful and insightful. Is very accomodating with his schedule and makes himself very available. Found him to be very caring and very truthful in his thoughts/opinions. Definitely makes you feel at ease. He is very easy to talk to. An amazing listener. Would highly reccommend him.

Dr. Botkin seems to be against doing deep work, ignored my emotions or tried to make me laugh instead of feeling them. He seemed to be over-scheduled and it was tough getting an appointment when I needed one. Tried him for 3 mo. and found somebody else who really listened to me and cared.

Okay, I don't normally write reviews like this, but I will this time, just to say this: seeing a therapist is an intensely individual experience and the therapeutic relationship depends on both parties, on the working alliance and real relationship between two people, the therapist and the client. As such, a therapist cannot be in any meaningful way be reviewed in this format. Having said that, I will add that I did have a positive experience with Dr. Botkin and would encourage others to give him a try. Who knows, it might be a good fit for you.

He can do good work, but only if you don't disagree with him, he can be very defensive. The other reviewer is right, he has a huge ego, and thinks he is knows everything. He is smart, but can be wrong, but would never admit it, he will make it out to be your faulty thinking. He talks a lot about himself, and if you want a therapist who concentrates on you and your needs, you would do better with someone else. He is entertaining and fun, will juggle for you, show magic tricks, and tell jokes, but if that is what you want, go to a comedy club instead, it would be cheaper.

Had a very bad experience with working with him.

He can sometimes have a big ego and thinks he is almost always right. Good sense of humor.
