Founded in 1961 to provide flood control and water conservation services, Soquel Creek Water District is a local government agency providing water resource management services within its service area to deliver a safe supply of drinking water. Based in Capitola, Calif., the agency serves more than 49,000 customers, through 15,360 connections in four service areas within mid-Santa Cruz County. Soquel Creek Water District regularly tests for over 130 water contaminants to meet the established state and federal drinking water standards. The agency supplies approximately 5,400-acre feet of water annually. It operates over 17 production wells and around 18 water storage tanks with an approximate capacity of 7.5 million gallons.
