Mr. Dorr took my car overnight for repair and busted my engine. When I sued him he claimed that it was not him but somebody else.
The judge told me I have to prove that was him. Mr Dorr has a long legal history in Slidell Municipal Court. Customers sued him and always lost. The judge is probusiness type.. Stay away from Mr. Dorr.

this place is as unreputable as I have ever encountered. they did unauthorized work to my vehicle and the estimate that started out at 300 wound up being 1800, the owner said if I didn't pay the full amount that I couldn't have my car, after pleading with him that I could pay over half now and the remainder when I got my next payday from work he refused, and to top it off he charged me storage fees, when I finally got paid I called to let them know I would be picking the car up, I asked the employee on the phone if I could pay with a check, he said yes, when I arrived I asked to know which machine shop my car was sent to for the unauthorized work the owner refused to tell me and then told me I couldn't pay with a check. my daughter was already in the car about to drive away and the owner opened her door and took the keys out of the ignition and said CASH ONLY ! he made me go to the bank and get cash. UNBELIEVABLE

KEITH DORR IS AN ABSOLUTE THUG

So I show up at this business at 5:02 PM. They are closed at 5:30 PM. I ask Mr. Dorr about my cold air intake filter e.g. might it need cleaning based upon time instead of mileage. He asked me if it was enclosed or not. I said it was not enclosed. He then says "I can't look at it today, because I have to leave in ten minutes" I said "are you open until 5:15 or 5:30?" He said "I have a doctors appointment so I have to leave early". I told him that it was not a good idea to close early & I gave him examples of why not. He then told me with eyes & facial muscles twitching that he works 70 hours a week & that he had been in business for 41 years. He also said "well if a person can't come back the next day...". Bottom line: make doctor appointments during the day or much later after work, don't close your business early, you had two other people working in the shop so get them to help me, my car was 50 feet from his person & the filter was not enclosed so it could have been easily viewed &/ or wiped to see if it needed cleaning. Mr. Dorr stated that it had to be disassembled to see if the filter needed cleaning. NOT. He turned off the lights in the reception area 15 minutes before closing time. He then said something to his staff & sped out of the parking lot. The service area was still open, but when one of the gritty mechanics saw me he started closing the bay doors. I asked about the horsepower on a vehicle they were working on. He said it had 800 HP. I found out later that it had much, much less from the other mechanic. I didn't trust the new HP numbers I was given either. When I asked to look at the engine they said "no we're getting ready to walk outta here". This was ten minutes before closing time. Wonder what Mr. Dorr told them before he also left early?? When I mentioned that someone might have stage 4 cancer they then allowed me to look at the engine. This owner & his current employees have a huge control problem, attitude problem & integrity issues.

They actually fixed my van, but I will never go there again. If you do, document everything, get it in writing. And if you need it done by a certain time, you'll have to sit on them.

These folks have a pretty good team. They do good work on most items. BE CAREFUL when the owner quotes you prices over the phone. These prices will definitely change/ go up later. Get prices in writing first. The owner has a "hot" temper. I drove over 25 miles and took off of work to pick up my vehicle only to find that the engine light came on even before I pulled it out of their lot. Then a more expensive add-on was needed and I had to make another return trip on a later date to pick up my vehicle. Inquire about taking your old scrap metal for possible monies. These folks seem to have an issue following up on smaller needs for the customer. Seems the service manager and the owner both refused to follow up on emails regarding a simple need. Very unprofessional in this area.

Well first of all I wouldn't even give this half way house "speed shop" a 1 star but that's the lowest It would allow..but besides that I'd like to explain the lack of professionalism you will experience at Dorr's automotive. First off, the welcome you get when you walk in the door is usually a solid burp coming from the owner Keith after he downs a nice 12 inch roast beef poboy. Then as you explain the work you wish to have done Keith will pull a nice price right out of his a$$ and give it to you, (warning) this price means absolutely nothing and is subject to change when you are paying at the end...we haven't found a noticeable pattern in Keith's price changes, sometimes ranging from a 12%-35% mark up from original price. But overall I would not recommend anyone to go to Dorr's auto shop...it's a poorly ran unprofessional establishment that is frowned upon by the slidell community. And for the record, Keith's supercharged Silverado is slower than a pregnant mule.
