terrible customer service

I just installed a stereo in my truck by myself, it shorted out so brought it their to just have them fix it quick. The stereo was already pulled out and everything, the guy fixed the issue and asked if I wanted him to put it back in. I figured well it'll only take five minutes to connect the harness and put the three screws in, but I asked how much it would cost. Haha he told me $100, I couldn't believe it and I said that I will just do it. So before I left the parking lot I spent 5 minutes plugging in the two wires and putting the three screws back in and it was free. And I did it right in front of them. I can't believe they even said $100 to do that. Any company that values it's customers would have just plugged in the two wires and put the three screws in for free. I am still just dumb founded by this whole deal I can't believe it.

I had an automatic start installed into my car about 2 years ago at Audio Playground in Sioux Falls. Since then I have gotten a new vehicle and wanted to transfer the auto start into my new vehicle and I had also moved to Rapid City. I called around local businesses in Rapid to look at possibly just buying a brand new one to save myself the hassle of driving back to Sioux Falls to get this done. To do a brand new one it would cost $300+ so I called Audio Playground and explained to them my situation and asked how much it would cost to have it re-installed into my new vehicle. I was told $125-$145 with tax and I asked them if I would need to buy any extra parts or anything for my new vehicle (I gave them my old vehicle model/make and my new vehicle's model/make) and they said no, that since I had a 2004 before it was new enough to just transfer it to my new vehicle. I made an appointment for this last Saturday and drove all the way from Rapid City (5 hours!!) to have this done. My mom had to drive my old car(which is now my brother's car) in and I drove my new vehicle. Once they had taken out the sensor and all of the wiring from my old car (which cost $26) they said that if I wanted to transfer the auto start into my new vehicle that I would have to purchase a $100 module part and my total cost would end up at around $300 (DOUBLE what I was told on the phone.) Weird that after they had already taken out the auto start they just magically realized that I would have to purchase this part that I was told I wouldn't need when I had called before. I told them I could have stayed in Rapid City and just purchased a brand new one for that price. So I asked them to put it back into my old car so my brother could use it and I would just buy a new one in Rapid. They said that it would be another $100 to install it back into my old car. Why would I pay $126 to be in the same predicament as when I came there?! Obviously, I went home and everyone that I talked to about this said we got seriously screwed over. I went back later that day to speak with a manger because I felt very taken advantage of. The owner/manager of the store is a JOKE!! Along with the older guy. It was literally a gang up, I was being yelled at by the both of them. There was literally no reasoning with any of the employees. They didn't care that I drove 5 hours for this appointment, they didn't care that I was told TWICE it would cost me between $125-$145 total, and they certainly didn't care about what I thought. I have never felt as disrespected in my entire life. DO NOT GO HERE, YOU WILL GET SCREWED OVER!!! Yes, it might be cheaper initially, BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!! ****I have literally never had a worse customer service experience in my entire life, I have never written a review on a business until now and if this saves even one person the trouble of what they would go through at Audio Playground, then it was worth it!****

My install took a long time. I think it was more than enght hours. I already had most of the equipment. I mainly just purchased speakers and signal and speaker cable from them. My system is typical with two amps, four speakers, and two subs. My car has a factory amp. They cut the wires on the connectors on the factory amp to connect my four-channel amp to them. They also cut the connectors off of the factory speakers so they could use those wires to connect to the new speakers. The system worked well. The biggest problem was putting the car back to stock so I could put my system in a different car. I had to purchase splice connectors to connect all the wires back. I did not appreicate that I could not just hook the connectors back up. Crutchfield sells adaptors to connect aftermarket speakers to factory speaker connectors, so these are available to electronics shops. I wish they would have ran new speaker wire for the speakers too. Becareful if you plan to put your stereo back to stock

Dont know what there thinking......

I have been there several times trying to believe that everyone gets second and third chances before I don’t recommend them but I think I have made up my mind. The first guy is right. Every time you go in there the exact same item can change 2 to 300 dollars in price. Best buy had a clearanced out amp for $125 and audio had it for 350 saying that it’s the latest and greatest. They do great work but shady customer service.
